4 out of 5 stars Its not as bad as they all say!   July 18, 2006

Now then, I have been playing the MOH series ever since they came out and the majority of them have been good solid games (although the last did not really inspire me that much).

This one does feel slightly different in the way it is set up and does take a small amount of time getting used to. But once you have it is still a very good game. Enough different weapons, enough enemy to shoot at, enough enemy shooting at you and wide ranging missions to contend with. Anybody who complains that the guns dont feel real enough should go and join the army because thats the only way you are ever gonna feel a real gun.

There are one or two small glitches but however not enough to spoil the game (and thats me being picky!).

For a game that is under six quid you can have hours of good fun with this so dont be put off by the bad reviews. It will last you enough hours to complete it so buy it. and lets face it six quid is cheap!

In short, buy it.......ITS A GOOD GAME!

2 out of 5 stars medal of honor.   November 15, 2005

Up until now I had been a big fan of the medal of honor series, though european assault was the first I've played on the xbox (all the others have been on a pc).

What a very average game, average graphics, average a.i., ermmm average and game length is short (not even average).

I've tried going back to this game hoping to renew my interest but sadly it looks like this one will be traded in for something else.

If you like this ww2 type of game then try sniper elite, it runs rings round this one.

1 out of 5 stars Unbelievably bad   November 10, 2005

I do not understand how this game gets an average reader rating of 4 stars.
It is terrible. okay, here is why it is bad:

1. Absymal AI for both enemies and allies. Your allies take cover on the wrong side of walls.
2. Disappearing enemies. As soon as they die they disappear, so you do not know if they are dead at times. Plus, even destroyed tanks vanish, which means you cant use them for cover.
3. Headshots do not kill enemies..
4. Graphics are poor.
5. Very linear.
6. Weapons feel like peashooters.
7. Grenades are poor.
8. Scripted AI

3 out of 5 stars A good game, but coming late!   July 30, 2005

Without a doubt, the best MoH game in 128 bits consoles. I still don't understand how EA doesn't translate to other languages, neither videos or the game itself....but remenber a game called "Call of Duty" or the more recent "Brother in Arms"???....if European Assault were released 1 or 2 years ago, I will enjoy this tittle more. Otherwise, if you like IIW.W. FPS, it's the thirth you must own. An at least I, waiting for Commandos: Counter Strike from Pyros....In my opinion, the four are good. It's a pity the bad IA allied....a game like Freedom Fighthers has better options....your partners in battle go where you told them....but not for so long! I think it's a point for optimice in new MoH. In mi opinion, it's a little bit arcade...7 or 8/ 10, it depends on how you like the saga, the genre. But a little bit short for nearly 30 GBP!

3 out of 5 stars Solid but unspectacular effort   July 30, 2005

Why oh why do game developers create such long missions without the inclusion of checkpoints or a quick-save option? This game lacks both, and it makes it a frustrating experience. The player can spend as long as a half-hour battling through a mission, only to be killed and dumped back at the very beginning. This doesn't reward the player's effort, and it's made all the worse in this game because the squad-members are so stupid: they'll stand there and do nothing as a German soldier walks into a room and shoots you in the back, and they'll run gleefully into a hail of a machinegun fire.

On the plus side, and thank God there IS one, the graphics are competent, a sense of 'otherness' is achieved, and there's much satisfaction to be derived from firing bazookas at Tiger tanks.

With some checkpoints and a smarter squad, this game could have rated four stars. Roll on Halo 3.
