Best of the last gen! November 26, 2007 TJ Moore (Leicestershire) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The GCN is a awesome console...in groups! Nintendo have always been AND always will be party game based company. As they're are games such as Super Smash Bros Melee, Super Monkey Ball, F Zero GX, Soulcalibur 2(yes I know multi format but controls best on Gamecube) and Wave Race; Blue Storm too name but a few and honest to god the best PS2 has to offer is they're try at GTA SA multiplayer which was fun for awhile oh and Soulcalibur 3 which is pretty good and Rockstar were probably smiling about they're take on the multi player on GTA SA well woopty frickin doo! Ok the antics of Mario saving Peach for the Umptenth is getting tedious but I think in the Mario games it's more about the journey that counts. Another reason I think the GCN is so great is because it gets back to gaming roots, it's become to much about killing people graphically but the NGC takes it's way ahead and bases they're games on pure good fun! Ok it doesnt offer brillaint graphics but too be honest I find my fun from cartoon monkey's racing in capsule like balls, other then playing as Master Chief and killing aliens(though that is fun) so if your in University or live with brothers or sisters or even live close to a bundle of mates the NGC is for you as it's got enough to keep you entertained for hours on end!
Grab it at every opportunity August 16, 2007 D. J. Sam (UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
The Gamecube consoel is a seriously powerful console that delivers and delivers all the time you have it. With its amazing graphics powered by ATI, small, cute look as well as the discs and the sheer reliability and amazement this console has to offer, you should not miss it. Sadly, this console is the most underrated and will not last long in the market. But hey, maybe in a few years time this console will be a relic and will cost fortunes :) .I wonder how such an amazing system could get such negative feedback and get panned like the way it did. If it is because it has no CD Drive, get a cd player. If it is because it cant play dvds, get a DVD player. Its sad that so much people have missed out on the experience of gamecube. Graphics - 10/10 amazing Style - 10/10 it looks so cute as well as the controllers Power - 10/10 better graphics power than PS2 games - 7/10 a large array of games but a bit pricey Multiplayer - 10/10 4 controller ports and 2 memory card slots Family - 10/10 a very family friendly console for everyone to enjoy If you are looking for a very cheap console around 50 quid with power, lastability, multiplayer and style, look past the PS2 and XBOX and at least consoder buying this because it will not let you down a bit.
GET IT GET IT GET IT! July 26, 2007 Joe Gompertz (London, UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is the most underratted console ever! It has fantastic games and at that price is a complete steal! Of course the Wii is fully compatable with Game Cube games but if you don't want a Wii (for some reason) then get this. This is a bargain, get it before they run out! (Also get Super Smash Bros. Melee, the best multiplayer game I've ever played)
One of the best consoles ever! March 3, 2007 Mike Newton (Cheshire, UK) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I have all three sixth generation consoles, PS2, Xbox and GameCube. I bought my GameCube in early 2003 and have had no trouble with it, the games are absolutely fantastic. Nearly all the games I own are exclusive to the GameCube. In my opinion the GameCube and PlayStation 2 are equally the best of their generation, I have played on both these consoles many hours more than on my Xbox. Sadly, third party support was limited on the GameCube although Sega stayed quite faithful, releasing some excellent games such as Super Monkey Ball and Sonic the Hedgehog. Nintendo of course delivered the best first-party line up of all three consoles with Legend of Zelda, Super Mario and Metroid Prime. The GameCube should never have been underrated the way it was, it was a "gamers" console that focused on giving the gamer the best possible experience. The Wii has now come along and replaced the GameCube and seems to be getting much better sales and of course an excellent line up of first and third-party titles.
Seriously underrated, brilliant console, buy it for Christmas! December 22, 2006 Unique (United Kingdom) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Hi, first of all I'd just like to say that I strongly agree with those other reviewers who feel that Nintendo as a company and their consoles (including the Gamecube) are unbelievably underrated. I have had the Gamecube for a while now and I still really enjoy playing games on it, I have The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker, Mario Kart, Soul Calibur and I'm getting Zelda: Twilight Princess for it too! I play all of these games and some other games quite regularly, I've been once again addicted to it recently, more than I have the PS2, it's true what another reviewer has said about the fact that Nintendo are original and produce addictive games! To keep things short and sweet, this console is very good and is better than PS2 and XBOX in numerous ways, the graphics are solid and crisp, the sound is sharp and great and overall the gameplay of most games is wicked! This console doesn't just offer childish games which is the talk of this console and Nintendos catalogue, it offers a wide range of genres. If you haven't got much money and you want a console which you can really enjoy for Christmas and for a long time to come, I recommend the Gamecube, I really do! :)
