Simple, quick and painless! September 2, 2008 Mark Alldridge (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It's just so nice when something works so easily and simply; and this is one such device. I plugged in the USB cable, my PC recognised it as a drive in Windows Explorer (called "FREECOM") and I dragged and dropped all the files I wanted to backup. Job done! Small, neat and quiet. Excellent.

First rate build quality February 27, 2008 D. Downs (Harrogate) 32 out of 32 found this review helpful
There are loads of different hard drives on the market all pretty similar, this is the entry level offering from Freecom the only real difference being that this one comes in a plastic enclosure and the better one is aluminium. All the other brands Western Digital, Seagate, LACIE......all have plastic enclosures as well. Freecom use the latest Hitachi hard drives and after an hour near silent use it gave off very little heat. This drive is the best value per GB I could find it looks good it was delivered next day and from what I have read on the web Freecom customer services / support are very helpful and quick to respond. Last thing to mention it is hot swappable so you don't need to turn off your computer you can just plug it in and start using. No need for a mains plug either its bus powered - pulls power through the USB cable. There is now a 320GB version of this drive available ( 74.99 on Amazon, search for 30722)
