VISTA "Windows Experience Index" RATING 5.9 October 24, 2008 Dr Zoidberg 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I recieved a maxtor hard drive but i dont think it makes a great deal of difference. I was surprised at how quiet this hard drive is, compared to my old pc's hard drive. If you need a cheap but reliable hard drive then you wont be disappointed with this. (note: no instructions or SATA cables come with this drive). Also as the title says vista rated the drive as 5.9 (the highest attow)
Great Buy September 1, 2008 Mr. M. I. Whatling (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Recived this item 2 days after i had ordered it. recived a Hitachi Deskstar, and works brilantly, sent my disc access on vista rating to 5.9. (highest you can get at the moment) and i got it almost a tenner cheaper then buying it and knowing what it is. thanks amazon for the quick delivery. and a great buy
Bargain April 18, 2008 C. S. Tarling (England) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was lucky enough to receive a Deskstar (Hitachi) which I believe is the best drive you can hope to get. Perhaps it helped that I also ordered a CPU and DVD-RW from them at the same time so they thought they'd be generous - who knows! Anyway, if you get a drive from the lower end, I believe you are still getting your moneys worth, so you might as well try your luck I think!
A drive - and that's it. September 15, 2007 K. Jamison (Co. Down, United Kingdom) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
The drive I received was a Seagate (you may receive a Maxtor, Hitachi, Seagate, etc.) and is very fast. Installing the drive took about 5 minutes. The box is well packed with the drive in a static sensitive bag. There are no instructions, no mounting screws, no SATA data cable and no SATA power adapter. If you're happy with this knowledge, the drive is a real bargain. If you don't happen to have a box of PC bits or you don't know how to install a drive, this is probably not for you. If you Google for drive installation instructions, you might find some help - I'd recommend doing this first.
Good drive (and nothing else) August 25, 2007 Nicholas Sillito (UK) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
The drive I recived was a Maxtor (you may not get the same) and works well (although the real test will be if it still works in 3 years time). Installing the drive was problem free and took 5 minutes. All I got in the box was a drive. No instructions. No screws to mount the drive. No SATA cable. No power adapter. If you're happy with this, the drive is a bargin. If you don't have a box of PC bits or don't know how to install a drive, this is not for you.
