Will write once only - if you're lucky!September 18, 2008 Fingerbar Fiddleston(Underground) I've generally found Imation standard DVD-R media to be perfectly acceptable and reasonably priced. Unfortunately the re-writable disks are very poor. They usually write once - but sometimes not at all. Even at 2x speed rather than 4x. They really won't rewrite and if they do - you better have a decent DVD player to play them on as my old Aiwa doesn't like them at all. It would be much cheaper in the long run to buy a standard DVD-R spindle instead. These are really not worth considering.
Average quality disks at a competitive price.September 6, 2008 Prof TBun(Birmingham UK) The concept of a RW DVD has always been a dubious one. As a technology it is always going to be unreliable because of the physics involved. When handling DVD-RWs you also need to keep them free of dust and fingerprints.
I found these disks to record sucessfully several times before becoming temperamental. They performed no better or worse than more expensive branded disks, when used with toshiba and panasonic recorders.
The manufacturer suggests they will last for "UP TO" 1000 recordings. I think 12 to 20 recordings is a more realistic estimate. Every time the disk is reformatted it is being degraded. If you want to be certain of a perfect recording, you need always to use a new disk or a DVD-R.
Not sure about 1000 times rewrite only once for videoJuly 2, 2008 G. A. Wilson 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
In the description for this product says able to re-write 1000 times. I found after re-writing video only once. The resulting quality of the video recordings is so bad the disk is no longer usable. So for video recordings these disks are effectively dvd-r disks only able to write video recordings once.If you need to write video many times don't bother.
