I ordered one of these to connect my old Windows ME computer to my home network on 1 July. The item arrived by 10am on 2 July and installed immediately using the mini CD included. This is currently working perfectly. I would recommend this item and supplier to anyone needing to connect a LAN to a computer which does not have an Network Adaptor but does have USB's.

Simple little item. Saves installing Ethernet port on older PCs. Runs straight away from programme supplied on mini-disc.

This adaptor is not XP certified, it is only certified for NT, 98 and Win 2000. It did not work on either my laptop or desktop, both running XP.

This worked immediately with the disk supplied, and it means not having to open up one's machine to install an ethernet card (ie. it saves using another PCI slot). The details suggest it is USB 1, but in fact I think that means 'compliant': it is a USB 2 device and easily handles the speeds downloaded by my fairly low bandwidth broadband. It looks a bit plasticky, but for the price ...
