Product Description Optimised for use with the WPN311 RangeMax? Wireless Router, which dramatically boosts signal and eliminates dead spots, to provide superior wireless coverage and speed to your desktop via the USB port. 1000% more coverage than 802.11g: As a 21st-century consumer, your notebook computer is an integral part of your life. But does your home computing environment work for you? Even if you already have a wireless network, you've probably found "dead spots" in your home where your Internet connection fades in and out, or drops off completely. Now, say good-bye to those dead spots ? and say hello to the freedom to work (and play) absolutely anywhere in your home! With the RangeMax Wireless Router and USB Adapter, your whole house becomes a "hot spot." NETGEAR's exclusive RangeMax technology gives you the longest range of any wireless network on the market today - up to 10 times the wireless coverage of 802.11g. So you'll have a sizzling-fast, consistent connection in every room of your house ? and beyond. Range Matters: Put the NETGEAR RangeMax Wireless USB Adapter to work for you, and that's all you need - leave those range extenders, repeaters, and external antennas at the store. The RangeMax Wireless USB Adapter is optimized for use with the RangeMax Wireless Router which adjusts to the interference and physical barriers in your home, and delivers up to 500,000 square feet of coverage - 1000% more than 802.11g. And the RangeMax Wireless USB Adapter is 100% compatible with your existing 802.11b/g products - so you are free to connect at home, work, or public hotspots. Power Under the Hood: RangeMax is an advanced Smart MIMO (Multi-In, Multi-Out) technology that uses seven internal antennas in the wireless router. The RangeMax Wireless Router constantly surveys your home environment for barriers and interference and adjusts the signal to compensate for these performance inhibitors. For example, if you carry your laptop from room to room, the RangeM

Completely Unreliable September 19, 2008 C. Wong (Ashford, Kent United Kingdom) Completely Unreliable. Work for 2hours at a time. Need rebooting my PC with Vista every 2 hours to get connected. uninstall and re-install 3 times and no luck. Returning to seller (which is in France!) requesting full refund. Don't buy it. I would give no star if there is such an option
Not Worth the money!!! July 13, 2008 M. black (leeds) Wouldn't bother wasting ya money with this thing tested it against a cheaper unbranded usb without suppied drivers and the Netgear one performed worst. and thats with a netgear rangemax router...lol
Top Quality - recommended! July 7, 2008 Mr. John Connell (UK) This was a piece of cake to install, and with the NetGear N spec wireless modem our Dell laptop runs at 270 and the range excellent throughout the house & garden. If I have one tiny gripe, it's the sticky Velcro strip they supply to attach the USB (via a cable) to your laptop lid. On one hand the cable extension is a great idea as it prevents the USB stick being accidentally damaged (like many of my flash drives have been), on the other hand the tiny bits of sticky Velcro are very cheap, nasty and ineffective so I don't use them and simply lay the stick down somewhere safe.
Excellent adapter June 19, 2008 Mr. Michael Eliot-higgitt (UK) I recently purchased a DG834N & WN111 adapter, which was delivered very promptly by BB. The router was easy to set up (except that you can only set it up by hard wire, so if your internet connection is not adjacent to a computer, you will need at least 2 extension leads). Wirless set up was very easy for the router and adapter. Previously, my DG834G achieved a throughput of 24-54Mbs, sometimes with a poor signal quality, although generally it stayed connected. Now I get a constant 130Mbs. Despite some people saying it does not affect your broadband speed, I can honestly say mine has doubled with the new purchases. I am with BT and had never checked my speed above 3 Mbs, now it is always above 6Mb. I dont know why, just extremely pleased that it is. With respect to my laptop, this still has a standard 802g wireless card, but connection is now a solid 54Mbs, and internet has ipmroved from 2.5 to 3.5Mbs average speed.
WPN111 & DG834PN is a superb combination May 27, 2008 E. Judge (Wiltshire, UK) I have XP SP2 systems with networked printers. The WPN111 connection has been used daily at 108 Mbps for over a year without problem. Sometimes the system using the WPN111 adapter is powered down overnight. The only time the router is powered down is because of a mains power cut. The printers, router and WPN111 adapter are used on three different floors in an old house without very thick walls. "Ordinary" adapters would not maintain a connection for more than a few minutes and at pathetic speeds. Setup of the new adapter was very straightforward and well documented.
