4 out of 5 stars Lovely little keyboard.. not for Linux   October 6, 2008
Ben Martin (Milton Keynes, UK)
This is a lovely little keyboard, that comes in a nice case too.
Works perfectly with the PS3 GameOS. Downside is that if you plan to use this with Linux on the PS3, I never managed to get it to 'pair' correctly.. otherwise, great little keyboard and mouse pad.

1 out of 5 stars Could not get it to work with three different computers   September 7, 2008
Mr. Paul J. Smith
Looked well designed and constructed but would not work! Two computers failed to recognise it and a third, although it appeared to pair successfully did not work with the keyboard. Two of the three computers had been tried with another bluetooth keyboard (made by Microsoft)and worked OK (didn't get around to trying out the third) so would not recommend the Keysonic ACH-540 BT

4 out of 5 stars Does the job   August 15, 2008
New to markets (London)
The key board sits comfortably on you lap and the size and weight is good. The keys are a bit closely packed. On the mouse pad the the page up and down doesnt work that great. Batteries require a change every 2 weeks. This works with both PC and PS3.

4 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the tin!   August 14, 2008
Mr. Richard Gledhill (Warwick, UK)
Works fine - paired straight away with my PS3 and also with my Eee PC, so no problems there. Battery life seems ok but it's still early days; keys have a decent feel to them and the mouse touchpad is average.

Basically it does what it says on the tin, but does it well and is light and convenient. I'm quite happy!

By the way, if the instructions go walkabout and you forget how to initialise pairing... I found that turning it on and just repeatedly pressing the Pairing button on the back will eventually put it in the right mode :)

1 out of 5 stars Don't bother if you're a Mac OSX user   August 2, 2008

I'm only commenting on this from the point of view of a Mac user, Windows users should form your opinions elsewhere.

I bought this in the mistaken belief that it would be a good controller for a Mac based media centre that I'm trying to setup (bluetooth, trackpad, mini keyboard, cheap, sounded promising). Unfortunately it's not, I'm not sure where the balance of blame lies between Apple and Keysonic, but anyway the main issues when using it with OSX are as follows:

- the keyboard drops the bluetooth connection after a very short time in order to conserve battery life, fine; the problem is that it then take about two minutes and numerous key presses to persuade it and OSX to play ball again.

- when it and OSX do decide to get it together again, OSX frequently, erroneously thinks it no longer recognises the keyboard and pings up a dialogue window saying as much.

- the keymaps all over the place and some characters it appears are impossible to to type e.g. "|"

- the worlds most annoying trackpad miss feature, click to drag (or more correctly named "the randomly click when the user least wants or expects it" feature), is activated by default, and there's no way to disable it because OSX thinks the trackpad is a mouse and consequently doesn't show the relevant option in preferences (I could cope with the first three problems, it's this last one that's almost had me throw the damn thing through the window on more than one occasion).

Anyway, I can't decide what to do with mine, part of me wants to take it outside and stamp on it, part of me says flog it to someone else ...
