i bought this laptop after searching and comparing many websites and other laptops on amazon and for the price this one looked the best. i would highly recommend this, it is packed full of games and gadgets and it is damn shiney. having never used vista before i was sceptical but it is fairly easy to use for novices like me.
the scrolling bit on the touch pad in a nice feature. overall it is a really nice laptop, has everything you need for work, play and enough memory and spec to store all your stuff and run with no problems.

I've had this laptop new from Amazon (hassle-free free delivery as ever) for around 2 weeks now. It's replaced a Dell-disaster that I experienced after ordering a XPS1530. The Dell was a very nice looking and feeling machine but I was seriously let down by a)the first machine giving me the blue screen of death the very first time I switched it on b)the replacement machine (which I had to insist on getting) having a wifi card which switched itself off continually and c)the hard disk failing 3 weeks after I had installed the new wifi card. That was the last straw and now I have spend my refunded money on this HP laptop.
So far so good. For a start it actually works which is an improvement on the Dell! (PS I was recommended the Dell by a colleague who loves his, I guess I just got unlucky 3 times over).
Anyway rant over and on the HP: It's a nice bit of kit. Pros and Minuses as follows
+ Design is good, although it picks up finger prints on the lid like all of the current glossy look machines. At least that's not around the keyboard like on the Toshibas.
+ Scroll function on touch pad is great
+ It's quiet and pretty fast
+ Screen resolution is good, at least as good as the Dell
+ built in speaker sound is pretty good
- I find the keys too light and mis-type a bit, still getting used to it
- There was quite a bit of junky software pre-installed that took a while to clear out (e.g. links to sites trying to sell you kit)
- No manual or back up disks (Dell was excellent for this)
That's about it - I'd recommend it...
