Typical Microsoft October 14, 2008 Red Jim (England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The drivers which came with the mouse are causing no end of problems with the current CAD package I am using, rendering my PC unusable. To my dismay I found out that these clashes are well documented all over the internet, the only solution is to buy any other brand of mouse. This has caused me no end of grief, consider yourselves warned!
Prone to problems September 24, 2008 Chimpanzee (Bristol, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had to have this replaced once as the first one I received would not charge. I now appear to be having the same problem with a replacement whereby the connection between the mouse and it's charging cradle is very sensitive. I have to place a piece of paper half-between the mouse and the cradle for the connection to remain in place. Luckily, the battery is pretty good so I only have to do this once every three weeks or so with fairly heavy use. Other than the issue charging, the build quality seems quite good, as is the reception. It is also one of the more comfortable mice that I've used. Unfortunately, to make use of all it's additional buttons and features, you have to use Microsoft's Intellipoint drivers which are awful. For example, you can't scroll down in Winamp. I've read on the Winamp forums that this is a known issue with MS mice and is down to the way the driver interprets the mouse wheel. Seems to be another case of MS not sticking to industry standards. This makes for a major irritation. I'd like to mention something positive to finish with but I can't think of anything other than what I mentioned above.
Excellent Mouse May 14, 2008 Harvey Hanson (Manchester, UK) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is a great little mouse; it fits nicely into the hand, has useful and well placed buttons on the side, and looks great too. The only downside is a preference that I would have liked the scroll wheel to click, which it does not, it freewheels, but each person has different preferences. So, to recap, great mouse, lasts ages on battery (I have had it for 2weeks using 8hours a day, not charged it and it still works fine and registers good battery in IntelliPoint). I would have no qualms about recommending. Also, if you like this mouse, have a look at the Desktop set (Keyboard and Mouse) which is called the Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 7000, the keyboard is very nice which goes with it. 5 Stars easily, well done MS
