So proud of the little mouse! March 25, 2008 Butters (London) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Well, where to start? I received it from Amazon the next day after ordering it, plugged it in and was off. It was so fast that I was taken back by it, then pressed all the buttens, downloaded the little accompanying programme, set it up and found that it had different settings for what speed you want it at. Found the weights and made it the right feel. Then, like every true male, glanced over the tiny manuel and found some actually useful tips. It can have several different profiles on its on board memory chip. I have 1 for gaming, 1 for work and 1 for general stuff. To get the best out of it, I adjusted the weights to make it feel comfortable with whatever activity I'm doing. I liked the fact that it came with two different covers for the mouse for the big hand or for the small hand. For gaming, it's fantastic, the speed, I put it to almost max, of it is seriously useful for when trying to kill spys in team fortress 2 as they are running round you. It's easy to keep trake of your enemies. For work, the setting makes it a little quicker to pull up files than a normal mouse and makes it feel slightly easier to work. Put it on the general setting, you can still set the speed you want and do whatever you have to do. There's not a lot you can say about mice but this one is definately the best I have had to use. There was one other important fact that I liked about this mouse and that wa the cord. It is slightly heavier than the normal wires on mouses and it means that you don't have to keep pulling the wires back up as it droops over the side of the desk. It seems to stay where you leave it. Also, I tend to tred on the wires of mouses and have broken a many by snapping it as i pull the mouse back to me, have done it a few times with this one and nothing. It still works a dream. I had to get a wireless one before, but now I don't need to change batteries whilst in a game ever again!!!! Best mouse out there!
Awesome CS March 19, 2008 P. Lee-choon (London) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
In January 07 i bought a G7 from here, great mouse but not cheap. Started having problems with the left mouse button so gave CS a bell.they took me through a few things to try and fix it but no joy. By this time my one year warranty had expired. So what did Logitech do? did they tell me "hard luck m8 buy a new one" or "Sorry we cant do anything etc...etc..." NO they sent me this G9 FOC. This is one excellent mouse & you dont have to change batteries ;-) but the best thing is the customer service.
Great mouse February 12, 2008 A. McNeill (England) This is easily the best and most comfortable mouse I have ever used. First off, the shape is very ergonomic and despite what a lot of people are saying it didn't take me any time at all to get used to the shape (although that might just be me). The customizable grip is also a very good feature but the two grips have different textures, so even if you prefer a narrower grip you might not like the feel of it. The customizable weight is amazingly effective, and it's really made a difference for my gaming. The mouse is very precise (with 3200dpi [but that's only comparing it to a lower resolution mouse]) and therefore good for gaming. The scroll wheel is also good because it has two different mode: a precise click mode for gaming (and probably normal use) and a "Hyperspeed" mode which scrolls very fast. The dpi changing buttons are good for changing resolution while gaming, and it's better than some mice I've used which only have 1 button for dpi changing. The software for it (I can't remember if it came with the mouse or if I had to download it)is very useful and you can customize the different dpi settings, and even customize the colours of the lights on the mouse. There's hardware profile changing on the mouse which seems good but I can't comment because I only use one profile. You don't need any software to use the mouse, all the settings are stored on the mouse, so great for taking to a lan party. In all I think this a great mouse I definitely recommend it especially if you're into gaming.
Excellent but with some reservations February 6, 2008 Helpless (UK) This mouse is really designed for people with large hands, size wise it is perfect for me. It is responsive and extremely accurate and the shape fits my hand perfectly. The texture of the fitted cover is excellent and the scroll wheel is a delight to use. This mouse is also corded and as such a gamers delight with no connection issues. The on-board chip allows it to be programmed for speed and movement and will work if moved to a new pc, as you take your setting with you. (My previous mouse a wireless Logitech MX Revolution, it had good features but stuttered and froze on the screen at regular intervals. Apparently this is common knowledge when using Vista, not too mention that it had to be charged more often than not.) However, the addition of the removable weights on the G9 really doesn't add up to much and in my opinion is a bit of a gimmick. No one can really tell the difference between 28g and 24g of extra weight. Also, the extra cover with the sweat wicking surface feels very strange and rough. A bit like wearing itchy wool next to the skin. All in all: Excellent with reservations!
Amaze your friends! December 25, 2007 Mr. M. J. Tyrrell This little gadget was a great buy. I use it for both Gaming and Working. The way you can switch profiles and change the sensitivity is a godsend. After being suck on the same one forever with the MX1000 I found it a constant bother trying to set the sensitivity up in game while not making it a Super-Speedy-Mouse on the Desktop. Couldn't have done it without this mouse. Plus with the ability to change the weight and use custom casing it fits my hand like a glove. So defiantly don't be put off by the "odd" shape which some people talk about. Plus an added bonus, the colour changing lights! Great thing to show at parties. Haha...
