What a great bit of kit - and so well designed! May 30, 2006 Richard Murphy (Hinckley, Leicestershire) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Having had Logitech products on my desktop at home for a while I bought the V400 with some confidence. I have an MX700 at home but got fed-up of lugging around the bulky base station with my laptop when out and about. The V400 could not be better. It has a compact design with all the buttons I have on the larger MX700. I use the forward/back buttons lots when browsing on the internet and the added zoom feature is just fab. As the V400 is a laser mouse it works on a whole variety of "terrain", including magazines on trains which double as mouse-mats. Sure it's small and I wouldn't want to use it all the time, but I bought it as a notebook mouse for when I'm out so it is just fine. The best feature of all is the USB transmitter which slots neatly and securely into the body of the mouse when "in transit". And even better when the USB transmitter is in place it disengages the battery, thus avoiding it running down or even worse gunking up the mouse if you forgot about it or didn't use it for ages. Excellent design and a great price. Another winner from Logitech and Amazon.
A very tired mouse April 30, 2006 J. Olsen 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This mouse goes to sleep when left inactive for a few seconds, and it then takes it a second or two to wake up when moved. Annoyingly this power saving feature can not be configured - I'm guessing the "advanced dual laser technology" used in this product puts a heavy drain on the battery. For me this is a show stopper - I'm going to look for a different model to replace it.

When ordered, found no reviews so ordered and prayed. Result excellent choice. No problems, plugged in and worked straight away. CD provided for advance features which loaded without hassell. Delighted with performance, works easily on any surface, including in bed!! (How sad!). Scroll's in every direction, forward, back and side to side. Zoom in and out and moves easily through excel workbooks with numerous tabs so less strain on wrists. USB connector has storage within unit. Mouse, as description states, is quite small as you would expect for a notebook mouse. Perfect for ladies, though would concede a man may find it too small. Have had and used every type of mouse and this is so far the best. Time will tell re battery life and I will certainly test that to the extreme in the fulness of time, but there is a battery low warning light so I don't anticipate any problems. One criticsism though nothing to do with product, packaging. Nearly impossible to open without an extremly good pair of scissors and patience, so if anything wrong, no chance of returning in original packaging. Product itself recommended buy.
