Good mouse but has issues November 3, 2008 Simon Brown (Doncaster, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Nice quality mouse but even for a notebook mouse the wire is much too short, it should have been at least a foot longer. The other issue is it doesn't work as well as an optical mouse (the V150 is lazer) on unusual surfaces (esp. fabrics), and I would say it also feels quite a bit laggier (delayed) than the optical mouse I was using before. Hard to grumble for the price, but it's not perfect. If you always use it on a hard surface within a foot of your notebook, you would have less problems with it, but even then it just doesn't feel that great to use.
Excellenct little mouse September 11, 2008 Mr. RJ WILMSHURST (UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The Logitech V150 is an excellent little notebook mouse. Accuracy of the Logitech laser pointer is of course excellent, tracking flawlessly on almost any surface. There's not really a great deal else to say about a mouse, but I thought I would provide some specifications that don't seem to be readily available elsewhere: As a notebook mouse, the Logitech V150 is a fair bit smaller than a standard mouse measuring about 98 mm long, 50 mm wide and 32 mm high. The central scroll wheel acts as a third button and offers horizontal scrolling, in addition to normal scrolling. The mouse weighs 65 g (plus 10 g for the cable) so it is considerably lighter than a typical cordless mouse when its batteries are included. The USB cable in itself is only around 60 cm long, which is convenient if you intend to use the mouse close to a notebook computer, but if you do intend to use the mouse where a USB port is not readily accessible, you will almost certainly need a USB extension cable. Whether the shortness of the cable is an advantage or a disadvantage will depend on your use of the mouse. The last thing to point out, if it's not clear from photos, is that the mouse is symmetrical, so can just as easily be used in the left or right hand. The rating on the back reads 5 V, 100 mA.
Fantastic mouse but the lead is too short! March 29, 2007 Stephen Sizer (Sheffield, UK) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
The first thing that struck me about this mouse is that the lead is far too short. It measures 650mm (65cm) from the back of the USB plug to the front of the mouse. If you are left-handed and have USB ports on the left side of your laptop, or are right-handed and have ports on the right side, then this mouse is perfect for you. If you are neither of those or want to plug the mouse into the back of a desktop then frankly it is almost unuseable without a USB extending lead. I am right-handed and have USB ports on the left of my laptop. It is a relatively small laptop but the lead isn't long enough to trail around the back - it has to lay over the top of the keyboard! In order to get around this I use a USB hub which is on a long lead. And the good points. This is easily the best mouse I have ever used. It is just the right size and shape. The contours fit the hand very well and the buttons and the wheel are in just the right place. The clicks on the buttons are very positive and are ideal for heavy users. The scroll wheel works very well and the sideways scroll is very useful when navigating large webpages or documents particularly if using a small screen. I cannot comment on the 'zoom' feature because I have not installed the software. The laser on the bottom is different to conventional optical mice. There is no red beam coming out of the bottom - in fact there is no noticeable beam at all. It seems to be more accurate and more responsive than standard optical mice and works well on any surface, even shiny surfaces that some optical mice don't like. Overall I would highly recommend this mouse even with the short lead. I would have given 4.75 stars if possible. If the lead was twice as long I would have given 5. However the good points far outweigh this minor inconvenience. I would certainly buy another one and use it with an extender lead. If this is not an option and having the lead draped over the keyboard is likely to cause problems, then the wireless version would be a better option.
