Perhaps the best mouse i have ever had!!! March 26, 2008 Mr. Afsor Ullah (London) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This mouse is absolutely brilliant. The bluetooh capability means that it runs smooth. The scroll wheel is excellent as it is soft and fast. I bought this mouse without the bluetooth adaptor and had to purchase an additional one from ebay for about 4.00. I have not experienced any problems with it and all the functions seem to work fine. You can turn the mouse off to save power consumption which is much better than my Logitech which ate batteries faster that a hungry man. Overall, its an excellent buy.
Better on Mac than on PC March 21, 2008 DamianR (uk) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Scrolling using the central wheel is really dreadful under windows. However pretty good under Mac OSX MS has cocked-up with this hardware - it actually performs better with a Mac!!
Unusable on Mac March 20, 2008 Dan (London) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
My mouse has just arrived this morning and I'm extremely disappointed. Despite having the belief that Microsoft are pretty incapable of making a decent product usually I've been using a wired mouse of theirs for a couple of years and been very pleased with it. So when looking at Bluetooth mice for my MacBook Pro I thought I'd trust them again. Mistake. Technically, this isn't actually compatible with the Mac at all, despite their claims. It won't pair at all so presumably is using some kind of fake MS-flavoured Bluetooth. There's a dongle included in the box which apparently will work but obviously misses the point of having a Bluetooth mouse altogether. I have managed to pair it now using a hack found elsewhere but the tracking is so poor as to be virtually unusable and the scroll button and the two other little buttons don't work despite being set up in the installed MS software. Maybe it works on a PC, maybe it works if you miss the point and resort to using the dongle. But if you use a Mac and want to use proper Bluetooth as intended then look elsewhere. Turns out MS can't even make a mouse after all. Not honestly anyway.
Quality item from the Microsoft Team! November 19, 2007 V. Willcox (Milton Keynes, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had this item a while now. I did notice the jumping at first, but with a little tweak of the sensitivity settings and all is now fine! I love that it is bluetooth and not infrared or RF. The charging station is also a massive bonus! No buying battries or needing the take them out to charge! The scroll wheel is nice and smooth and silent! Overall FANTASTIC!
Good mouse, bad wheel November 17, 2007 Gordon Mcvey (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This mouse I found worked really well. I've not had the precision issues that others have claimed to have suffered so I guess it depends on quality of signal, battery strength, etc. It's proved to be as good or better than my previous wired mouse. I would say that it is rather heavy though. Worse than that is the mouse wheel, which is designed to tilt. I really don't like this functionality, because it makes middle clicking by pushing the wheel down until it clicks needlessly difficult. This isn't helped by the push down action being very stiff, the wheel rolling action is rather stiff as well and doesn't have the notching effect that I've grown used to with other wheel mice. It is a good mouse, it is precise, seems to last a really long time on a single charge and includes a bluetooth dongle that's already paired with the mouse for those of you who don't already have bluetooth. You'd just think Microsoft would have paid a bit more attention to the wheel. Especially in a mouse this pricey.
