Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Watch out for Amazon   October 29, 2008
Nigel Heather (West Sussex, UK)
This is not a review of product but to Amazon's approach to fufilling the order.

If you choose to order this through Amazon rather that the Marketplace there is a good chance you will be sent the 'discontinued' Labtec Optical Notepad Mouse rather than the new 'Labtec Optical Notepad Mouse Pro'.

The main differences are that rather than the modern piano black\chrome styling you get a matt blue and silver version. Additionally, rather than have the retractable lead it has a fixed lead, so is not as tidy. Furthermore, the Labtec website no longer shows the version that Amazon ships as a current model.

Yes I could have sent it back. Unfortunately, I needed the mouse to go with my son's laptop - he has a disability and is permitted to use a laptop at school to record his lessons.

So I had little choice but to accept the different model that Amazon had chosen to supply. I'm not particularly happy about it but I needed the mouse and couldn't afford the time to send it back and get a replacement (with no guarantee that I wouldn't get the same one back.

2 out of 5 stars Good, but poor build quality   January 12, 2006

On the plus side, this mouse is very tiny, the retractable cord is great, and it is comfy to use.

On the bad side, I have had two of these mice now, both have developed the same fault after a few months where it flicks on and off intermittently, sending Windows Hardware detection nuts. It appears to be a loose connection from the cord. I thought the first was unlucky, but after another it appears to be a flawed design.
