2 out of 5 stars Not great   May 18, 2008

I'm currently about 6ft from the media PC with the keyboard dongle and the input is variable with keys sometimes not registering, I keep having to go back and correct (!), so range is not that good.

I've used a tracker ball before instead of a mouse so I thought this would be OK, but this is too small for reasonable accuracy despite adjusting the wndows mouse calibration. Why Trust didn'tplace the left and right buttons under the traket ball I do't know, would have made more sense. They're actually hidden in front of the keyboard tothe extreme left and right, not intuitive and it takes some getting used to. The scroll key works OK, but my biggest compliant is the lack of "mouse" middle button! Trying to open/close tabs in browsers is a real pain.

THe keyboard doesn't come with it's own software (uses windows drivers which work), but that eans there's no easy way to add extra functionality or reprogram keys which is a shame.

Overall I can't recommend this keyboard. I still find it very frustrating even after a few weeks of use. I'm looking at alternatives such as Logitech's diNovo Edge keyboard (expensive, but has some nice features, a pad instead of roller ball) but I want to check it has a middle button capability first!

4 out of 5 stars Cheap (Made In China...), but functional media keyboard.   September 15, 2007

Ive been looking for a keyboard/mouse package for a while and found this at a ...reasonable 40.

To be honest, the whole thing from the start feels cheap, the keys wobble, the trackballs frustrating sometimes, trying to resize a window with it well, is a lesson learned.

The wireless distance seems to be iffy now and again, at around 10-15ft, and suffers terribly from double key preesseeesssss if your on the range limit, which is an absolute pain entering passwords. I should've really give this a 2/3* rating, a bit rash initially reviewing it.

I've got my PC in another room with my normal keyboard/mouse, while this is used on a projector in the main room, and I'm writing this on it now. Plugged the VERY small USB dongle in to XP MCE and it worked straight away.

The two mouse buttons are on the top left and right of the unit, a scroll on the top left makes it easy for web pages, and a single button under the trackball to turn it off. With it been very light too, it's pretty easy just to grab and use.

MCE shortcut buttons are present, if not a little confusing and they seem a little haphazardous, volume control in particular plays up in certain apps.

My main gripe, theres no middle click mouse button which would of been easy to put on the scroll wheel, a bit of a pain when you're using firefox, and you want to open/close a tab.

Still recommended (for < 30) for people who want to be able to move around their house and have the functionality of the PC in another room, albeit cheaply.
