Great mouse, except a for a few flaws October 8, 2008 Mr. P. Leung (United Kingdom) First off I switched to this from the logitech marble mouse which was a great mouse with the only problem of being wired and that it didn't have a scroll wheel, but otherwise it was great for gaming. Enter the Trackman Cordless, it has everything the Marble Mouse was lacking except that the scroll wheel on the 3 other buttons adjacent to it are hard to press without having to take your hand off the trackball. It would have been best if they placed the scroll wheel under the left mouse button then you would have access to all the buttons without having to lift your hand off. Also the mouse comes with a USB to PS/2 adapter so that you don't have to use up a USB socket on your PC, DO NOT USE IT. When using the adapter the mouse movement becomes rather jagged and is not smooth at all, just plug it in the USB port. Otherwise this is a great mouse, and as far as I know is the only worthwhile wireless trackball on the market that is also good for gaming. It uses 2xAA batteries and it boasts that they will last up to 6 months, not suprising since they package 2 Duracell batteries with it and not some batteries that you've never heard of.
Fantastic optical mouse highly recommended April 29, 2008 J. Woodland (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am a professional graphic designer in the marketing department of a civil engineering company, and as so I need a good solid mouse that is comfortable and practical to use. I've used a variety of different makes and models and nothing felt right till I discovered this one. I asked our IT department to order me one and after using it for a day found it was not only well made but very comfortable, easy and very nice to use. I'd never really got on with tracker balls before but this one is very different, first off its wireless so it's a stationary mouse that doesn't move only the ball on top, so if your like me and have tonnes of paper work all over your desk its not a prob. The buttons are well placed so your whole hand can lay on top with your little finger operating the right button and your thumb operating the left along with a few other buttons for going back and forth through folders. Index finger operating the scroll and your middle and ring fingers operating the ball. Simple! The battery life is fantastic I've had mine now for over 5 months, and only recently changed the batteries, but in saying that I did so thinking they needed changing, because it was lagging and running slow on the screen then I realised my speakers where in the way of the signal box I moved it and it was fine, so? I am so impressed and used to this mouse that I had to buy another one for my home computer and for 40 its money well spent. I would recommend this Logitech Wireless TrackMan Optical Mouse to anyone.
4 years of use! October 21, 2007 A J Day (Cape Town, South Africa) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My Trackman is getting on in years. It is an excellent devise and I highly recomend it to anyone who gets annoyed with their mouse "bumping into things". I have always loved trackballs and never found any "adjustment period" was needed. More a kind of relief that I no longer have to lean "right over there" to find more desk top. As I said mine is old now and I have replaced the main thumb button (Right click) 3 times ... the first due to "point & shoot" games (get a game pad rather) and the others due to old age. There will be no more new switches as the PCB tracks are just gone now. Also, I resprayed mine in reverse colours just for the hell of it. These are not negative points ... more a tesimony to the trackmans ability to last. I have also used this TM with both Windows XP and Mac OSX ... more functionallity on Mac ... but hey! that's Mac eh? One Negative thing: The cordless thing is great, sure, BUT I have found that I canot use my TM in the same room as someone I know who is using a Logitek cordless mouse ... there is interfearance ... this means I have to use a regular mouse ... very anoying! So, as a result of everything I am going to order a Kensington corded expert mouse for the Mac ... but my TM will live on with my PC. Trackballs Rock!
like a haemophiliac unicorn - unique, impressive, but hopelessly fragile August 1, 2007 Cyberyokel 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I absolutely can't do without trackballs, finding regular mice crude, awkward to emplace, and a strain on the hand. Functionally this should be top of its class in terms of shape and button arrangement. The bad news is that after barely a year of use, mine is falling apart. Having dissected the wee beastie I can tell you other reviewers that the LMB problem is caused by a flimsy (suspiciously flimsy in my opinion) support architecture. The whole wide button rests on a tiny prestle, made of malleable white plastic that quickly gets mashed. Once it is mashed you have to press very hard to get a response. Needless to say, this necessity, leading to errors, has provoked my nearly hurling the mouse out the window. Very, very disappointing.

I have had one of these for a couple of years and hate using a mouse now. We have two (one for my wife). The batteries in my wifes' trackball do not last as long as those in mine. Maybe the automatic sleep function is not working. One tip with batteries - I use batteries that my wife has discarded from her camera. I can usually get another month or two out of them. I agree with all the other reviews apart from the problem with the left button. I don't find any such problem. I use mine in bed as I spend a lot of time in bed (seriously bad back). I often fall asleep whilst using it and I have occasionally thrown the trackball across the room during my sleep. It survives every time, so far, although the ball has now got a small scratch on it which is annoying. I may have to invest in another one if I can't fill the scratch in succesfully. I would not be without this trackball from Logitech.
