Great value. November 19, 2008 J. Cuadriello (London) I have two of these cards and I have not had any problems with them with my Nikon D300. They are excellent value for money. Not all cameras will support 16GB cards, you need to check what your camera supports, people are provided feedback based on their own ignorance of the cards that their cameras support and blaming the card.
Cheap but Mighty October 31, 2008 Rob (UK) I bought this card for my Canon EOS 400D, and I was pleased to see when I turned the camera on that it cheerfully displayed "1587" to show me how many raw shots could be recorded before I'd have to change cards. Woohoo! Having bought a 2Gb SanDisk Extreme IV with the camera, I didn't want to spend a fortune on spare cards so I did some research on the web to find out exactly how fast a card needs to be before the write speed of the camera falls short of the card and you are paying for "unused extra speed". I have found it difficult to find accurate sources on the web but it seems that a 133x card should be more than adequate for storing data as fast as an EOS 400D can supply it. Which of course means a less congested buffer and more shots in a row in burst mode! I have done some simple tests with this Transcend card compared to my Extreme IV, and superficially at least there is no appreciable difference in performance. I have read that the larger memory address space of high capacity cards can slow down data writing slightly as compared to smaller cards, so I will not be going higher than 16Gb. I will be buying a few more of these babies before I go off around the planet!
This is an excellent card that does everything the manufacturers claim October 27, 2008 mark a holding I bought this card to use in my Canon EOS 40d and it has worked perfectly so far. It is fast enough to take a burst of shots on the jpeg + Raw setting @ 6.5 frames per second with no loss of speed that I could detect. Read speed is also fast as it only takes a short time to download a large number of jpeg + raw files onto the PC with no read/write errors so far. I have just ordered a second camera body (EOS 50d) and I am so impressed with this card that I have ordered the 32gb version of this card to go with it. All in all this is an excellent card that does everything the manufacturers claim, and it does it well Highly recommended.
A Fine Product & Great Value for Money October 12, 2008 Norman D (London, UK) Don't be put off by idiotic badly-informed reviews, this is a great product. I've had this card for 6 months now. I use with my Nikon D300 & it works great, writing multiple 12 bit NEFF (RAW) files, with no noticeable speed penalties. If you read the negative reviews, they've basically failed to read their camera's specifications, and bought the wrong product - this is not Transcend's fault! Ignore the one-star mis-information, read your device specs, and buy with confidence.Transcend 16Gb 133x Compact Flash SD Card
Not For WinXP October 1, 2008 John Sadler (UK) 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have a Sony A200 camera purchased at the same time as this card. The camera formats the card, offers storage space consistant with 16 GB and seems to work fine. When connected to a computer running WinXP, Home or Pro, although it recognises an attached drive, the pc claims the attached drive is not formatted and will not access images. Fortunately I also have an Apple MacBook Pro, which recognises and downloads the images from the Transcend card. Good buy if you're a Sony and Mac user!
