Bought this drive to replace a 150GB Raptor, which was fast compared to other drives but also very, very noisy. So noisy I had it in an enclosure that made it bearably quiet.
This little drive is excellent. It is (and I did some comparative benchmarking to compare it and the drive it replaced) faster by 15-25% (depending on what yardstick you use). Not only that, it is quieter than the old Raptor even though it's not in an enclosure and runs cooler than the old drive when that was bare.
Note that it is still not as quiet as other drives: there is some penalty for speed!
All in all worth the investment in my opinion.
