If you use you're computer to watch DVD's on, I recommend you DO NOT BUY this graphics adapter as it has difficulities displaying DVD Menus and when playing a DVD you'll have screen flashses. I gave this graphics card 2* becuase you get what you pay for, so dont expect to be blown away. This can handle most games with basic 3D graphics. Like most in the Radeon series it has more speed than quality as the rendering system has limited capabilities. If you have a basic graphics card at the moment & want something with slightly more memory then this is an ideal solution. If you intend to use it for gaming purposes I recommend getting nothing less than GForce 4 or if you're willing to risk it some of the higher powered adapters in the Radeon range.

I bought the PC game 'Simpsons: Hit & Run' for my children but discovered that it would not run on their PC as the game requires a graphics card with at least 32 Mb video RAM (the existing card only had 16 MB). So I searched around for a new graphics card and hit on this one which, with 64 Mb, seemed to be good value for money.I ordered it on Christmas Day and it arrived a few days later (full marks to Amazon) and was simple to install in a PC running Windows ME. Within a few minutes the above-mentioned game was running and my children have no complaints. I am no expert on PC graphics cards and cannot therefore compare it with the many other models available, but this one works fine with the PC games my children play and is good value for money.

Although it is cheap, if like me you are using an ageing computer - Pentium II in my case - you may find you have to rely on Windows drivers rather than those supplied.

The Radeon 7000, with powerful double data rate memory, delivers enhanced 3D and 2D performance. Hyper Z technology increases effective memory bandwidth resulting in improved performance. Pixel Tapestry, the Radeon 7000 rendering engine, powers an incredible 1.6 gigatexels/second for high fill rates in 32-bit at high resolutions. Radeon 7000 supports DirectX and OpenGL allowing for superior graphics and 3D textures that add a more natural look to game environments. This graphics card although not offering some of the facilities of some of the more expensive cards does well, especially at this price. 5 stars.
