I just got the last card today, i ordered it 2 weeks ago on wednesday, it came 1 day after the estimate time (friday), but i wasnt in so i missed it, so i got it today, the guy came early and im pleased he did cause i was away to phone that i missed it, which i didnt want to. But its a sick card, looks amazing, but i cant put it into my system yet cause i've only got 305watts of power, which u need 400w, but better with 500w, so thats my next objective :) cool card...90% better than the 8600 GTS
Great card, great price and performance. April 26, 2008 Mr. D. T. Cottrell 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I bought this card and it arrived yesterday. I installed it and after installing the driver everything worked great. I tried it on Supreme Commander with all details turned on on max resolution and it ran like a dream. For those of your who have not bought a dedicated card before then this is a brilliant card to go for. Not only is it nicely packaged and contains all the adapters you could want, it's also quiet, and is the fastest single slot graphics card you can currently buy for under 120. This is also a great overclock as the standard card is only 650mhz clock, 900 MHz memory and 1625 MHz shader clock. For those of you who are worrying about the noise of XFX cards (particularly the alpha dog edition) then don't worry as this card is very quiet and you won't be bothered by it as long as your know that any card will be noisier then nothing simply because you have a dedicated card. Here's some newbie advice. Ensure your pc has at least 450watts power supply and that it has at least 25a on the 12v line. You find this out by opening the left side of the case and looking at it. If your PSU doesn't have pcie power connectors, then don't worry as the molar to pcie connector is provided in the box, just make sure that you connect both molar connectors to the psu. So to summarise: It's very fast, cheap and has great build quality and is well presented. (-Scan.co.uk- are cheaper).
