D-Link DUB-H4 - 4-Port USB 2.0 Hu September 4, 2008 Dr DJG (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have used, without success, a number of different hubs. Look no further! This really is an excellent hub. It will allow you to attach a variety of external devises, including an external hard drive. (The latter is not the case with all hubs, as they are only capable of hosting external devises with low electronic and software demands.) I would definitely recommend this product. Excellent value for money.
D-Link 4 port USB Hub July 14, 2008 harlow 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ordered via Amazon/kikatek. Dispatched by 2nd.Class Mail and received in 2 working days. Won't go through the letterbox but was waiting. Plugged in, switched on and the D-Link H-4 is working much better than my previous hub however, that may be because I thought the cheapest USB hub would do. Highly recommended
Ok so far...but not quite sure June 9, 2008 I. Cummings (Newbury, UK) I bought this in Feb (4 months ago) as I needed a powered hub for my USB drive. Worked out of the box without any problems but now the power LED appears to start flashing/flickering at random times. The device still appears to work as normal but I am nervous especially as I do my image backups using it. I may well return it.
Solves your USB power problems (eg. for external HDD). May 28, 2008 D. Brown (Edinburgh) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a well designed and constructed USB 2.0 hub with PSU brick. I recently bought a WD 250GB Passport drive which works OK on my Sony VAIO but not on any of three desktop PCs in the house due to limitations on the current available from their USB ports. The Passport drive has no provision for a power brick and the Lindy dual-USB cable also failed to spin up the drive. This powered hub worked first time on all three PCs, providing enough current from the USB port to spin up the Passport drive.
Too much packaging / not clear it is powered April 3, 2008 Norton Radcliffe 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Just received this (ordered on tuesday morning arrived on wed morn with super saver - not bad!). A few remarks that I think need to be made: - Far too much packaging - I'm lucky I had it delivered to my place of work otherwise I would have to trek to the delivery office to pick up a 40 x 20 x 15cm size parcel. The router I bought had less cardboard around it, and that needed more 'protection' than this hub! I've noticed this being said in the reviews for a couple of electronics items - Amazon needs to have a look at this. - Not clear it is one of the powered hubs - I eventually chose this one after dredging through the expanded tech spec. A need-to-know point, especially if, like me, you need to charge items like cameras, iPods etc. - Dead simple to set up, only 4 steps in the manual (take out of box, plug in power and USb, turn on computer!). Nice long USB cable that looks quite sturdy.
