Got to be worth twenty quid of anyone's money September 9, 2008 Seamaster (UK) Bought these as a beefier alternative to my 2006 iMac's built-in stereo speakers and they have not disappointed. These perform as well, if not better, than speakers costing many times as much. Phenomenal bass response and clarity right through the dynamic range. The white ones are also an excellent aesthetic match for my iMac (although owners of the current iMac may prefer the aluminium alternatives). What more do you want for twenty quid?
Fabulous .. August 14, 2008 A. N. Lalwani (London) They are superb, for the money, warm, silky, involving. Not short of hi-fi speakers that would cost about 100 or so. Yes they are light and thus fall over. Solution: blu-tac underneath; works a treat. Dont have a headphone jack. A plus is not having tone controls. Altogether, fabulous !
Form over function. June 22, 2008 julie (uk) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had these speakers a good long while now and I agree with all the other reviewers about sound quality, these are great little speakers. My criticism is with the design of the speakers. I was constantly knocking them over and after one fall too many yesterday, one of the speakers had finally packed in. The design just doesn't fit the weight. If they were of a design with a lower centre of gravity and less easy to knock over I'd have no qualms about buying another set. As it is I'm searching for speakers of equal sound quality with a more ergonomic design.
Good while they lasted! February 19, 2008 M. Sumpter (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had these speakers for just over a year now, and while they have served me well for personal use, they didn't last so long. They had a crackling when I turned the volume control, not too bothersome so I chose to ignore it. My mistake! The sound on the speakers has been uneven between the two for a while now, with the left one being the problem, but this morning when I turned my speakers on, it was the RIGHT one that had failed. Cant get it to produce sound any more so I guess its time for new speakers. A bit disappointed they didn't last longer, bought these for 25, which for a year and a bit is OK but not my idea of value for money. could have bought a more expensive, well made pair and had them last 5 years or more. Buy these if you're strapped for cash, by all means. But they aren't going to last you too long.
more than I hoped for at this price December 9, 2007 S. Simpson (Oxford UK) Wanting a discreet dining room option over xmas plumped for these on basis I'd get something better in January and consign these to my son's PC - but these small & light speakers are surprisingly good- a friend was trying to persuade me to buy a bose sound dock for my i pod - well these small speakers give out a clean well defined sound comparable in quality - I certainly didn't think the bose was 10x as good. Simply plug in the speakers plug in your MP3 and you're away.
