Technical problems galore June 24, 2008 F. Covington (Dub, Ireland) I liked the look of these speakers, they have a stylish design and are nice and compact. However, after a few months I now have the following problems: Both speakers emit a high pitched feedback noise when turned on, and nothing is being played through them. So it means whenever i am sitting at the PC i have to have the speakers off, then if I want to listen to music etc I turn them on and stomach the nauseating noise for a few seconds before I turn on the tunes. Playing video games with them on is a big No-No, as there isnt always a lot of sound going on. Today, for no reason at all, the left speaker has stopped working entirely, apart from a low fuzzy noise that might be soothing to a small child but is entirely useless for playing music. I do not play music at loud volume, and I know what a blown speaker looks like, and this isnt blown. All my windows settings are correct for stereo sound, speakers were working fine last night and I havent changed any setting since. So, all in all a horrible experience. I wrote this review because Im chucking them out today. Maybe I will sacrifice them cerimoniously to the rock gods in an effort to please their angry souls.
As good as they claim! September 29, 2007 Mr. David J. Saunders (Essex UK) These speakers really are as good as they claim. I bought them to take on holiday and listened to my Vaio Pocket through them. The bass is susprisingly good and the sense of space to the soundstage very impressive. The vocals on many albums sounded more convincing than on my system at home. For style, size and sound quality they are a bargain!
chuffed September 20, 2007 jigga88 (uk) just arrived yesterday, picked up today, straight away i blasted kanye wests new album for a bit of hip hop base and now listening to ricky and steve on xfm archive. love the sound!! quality base,, very loud, nice build, didnt have the trouble as the man above so it gets my full rating - they look great, sound great. top for pcs and ipod..
Great for PC though Could be better with MP3 April 30, 2007 Steve H (Bath, England) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought these from a well known high street retailer as an upgrade for my PC. The speakers are very compact, and funkily designed being constructed from a hefty tube of aluminium. The subwoofer in particular is very heavy for its size. I had an issue with the build quality initially as there was an annoying buzz from one of the satelite speakers. It turned out to be a badly fitting plastic back to the speaker which was rectified with some PVA glue, hence only three stars on the review. When hooked up to the PC the speakers do produce a very fine sound with minimum distortion even on full volume. It comes with a range of continental plug adapters but I reckon that the weight might make its use as a set of travel speakers questionable. The input socket is suitable for a wide range of MP3 players, but both my Creative Zen, and Logik produce an OK sound but with noticeably less bass and volume - the fault of the players rather than than the speakers. Overall good value for money due to the good sound quality and funky looks, but 3 stars only because of the quality issue.
