1 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing   May 10, 2008

I bought these to replace my 'JBL Monster' speakers, they didn't need replacing i just felt like being extravagant. I shouldn't have wasted my cash. These don't have the range, kick or volume of the similarly priced JBL's. They distort at relatively low volume and generally fail to deliver all round. These might do the job if you don't have space for the 3 speaker subwoofer setup the JBL's need but it's hard to imagine how short of space you would need to be to prefer these.

5 out of 5 stars Blinding speakers for the price   April 23, 2008

For the money these are the best PC/small speakers I have ever had.

Do ignore any comments about weak bass unless you are a serious fanatic that feels the systems at The Notting Hill Carnival lack bass! I am listening to a Shaggy track right now (beep bass)and they are handling the whole range pretty flawlessly.

If these are in your budget then they are the ones for you.

4 out of 5 stars Good performers....but don't expect miracles   April 13, 2008

I bought these speakers from Amazon a few weeks ago to use with my new PC. I wanted a simple 2.0 setup rather than having wires trailing all over the place and after waded through loads of speaker reviews decided to give these a go.

The speakers are easy to set up (let's face it, how difficult can it be to plug a few wires in?) with sufficient cable to get a decent separation between the 2 speakers. The power adapter is chunky and far from pretty so you'll probably want to hide it away somewhere.

Speaker performance is good but not stunnning. The treble lacked the crispness that I like and the mid-range had little real depth. I have some old (8 or more years) Altec Lansing 2.1 PC speakers that I consider to be better that the T40s and which I'm sure cost less. I also dislike the positioning of the power switch on the back of the speaker as it's fiddly to get to. Why not put it somewhere accessible such as the front or top?

Overall, I think these speakers offer reasonable value for money. They're good speakers but they're not magic speakers.

5 out of 5 stars Give Your MP3s a New Lease of Life!   April 3, 2008

WOW! These speakers are AMAZING. I listen to a lot of music on my PC and have always thought I had decent speakers in the past...well that was until I bought these beauties. The T40s are the best I've ever had: I cannot fault them at all.

I have read some reviews saying there isn't enough bass......there is PLENTY bass. The sound is so well balanced it makes my whole music collection sound fresh. Also sounds great hooked up to my ipod.

These speakers are great value....BUY WITH CONFIDENCE!

5 out of 5 stars Music to my ears   March 30, 2008

I bought these as an upgrade to my T20's, after first powering up the T40's my first thoughts were "i cant hear any real difference between the two" i know speakers need to be "run in" so maybe its just that, as they don't sound as warm as my old T20's, yet, but im sure they will after some use. Build quality etc is just as good, the thing about these i really don't like, is how the power switch is now located at the rear of the speakers and not on the front like on the T20's, apart from that, still an excellent set of speakers.
