It was very easy to install.. I have a laptop with XP and my partner with Vista... we chose this printer because was Vista compatible and we are both very satisfied..... It was faster the instalation with Vista than with XP..we just inserted the disc and... done ... we tried to print pics and documents and work perfectly... the scan was a little more complicated but the first time you try something new it usually takes longer... I always had HP printers and I am completly satisfied with all the products I had and have...
HP = Happy Purchase September 13, 2008 J. Smith (United Kingdom) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After reading the mixed reviews about the HP-C5280, and being a HP user for the last 4 years, I decided to buy this all-in-one to replace my well-used and old HP-PSC-2355, and I'm glad I did. This is a fantastic machine for it's price. No software or installation problems. Very easy to use and with superb results. Only drawback, and as already mentioned before my other owners, it is on the noisey side. Apart from that, two big thumbs up from me, a happy customer.
No problems for me with setup September 8, 2008 N. Smith 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I previously had an Epson R200 but found that buying ink for this was extortunate so decided to invest in a new one as I was almost as cheap buying a new printer where the ink wasnt so expensive. Yes I know it's not very environmentally friendly but I am donating the old one to charity. Anyway, I was reluctant to but my new HP printer due to the reviews of setting up but decided on giving it a go anyway and glad I did. No problems for me with this one n she works like a dream. The ink that comes with the printer is only the standard size but as there is an option to buy XL cartridges I will be getting the black one in future as i print a lot of black text documents and will work out more economical for my student budget. This is a reasonbly quiet printer which looks great and produces good quality prints. Scanner and copier works well too. Well recommended
An excellent All-In-One printer. September 2, 2008 J. R. Jones (North Wales.) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
My Epson U830 was giving trouble (printing red lines across the page) and after doing all the things listed in the book and on line I 'phoned Epson's help line, explained the problem and e-mailed them a sample. Their response? "Sorry, can't help as we haven't seen this before"! I was not impressed as the printer was only a couple of years old and had had only light, domestic use. Soooo, look for a replacement - anything other than Epson! The C5280 appeared to tick all the right boxes so I bought! After a week of frustration in trying to install the thing and failing to get it to scan from the PC, I took it back and picked up a replacement (same model) and endured another few days of hair tearing and swearing as I still couldn't get it to install properly. The on-line help people kept suggesting things to try (I had already un-installed and re-installed the damn thing a dozen times and down-loaded the latest patches to no avail)Finally, I 'phoned a local "computer expert" who straight away asked if I had any other scanners installed - I had a 35mm film scanner! "Un-install that and try again" he said and BINGO! it installed just as it said on the box and it works really, really well! I am tickled pink with it. It is fast, very quiet while printing (lots of clattering when feeding paper!)and produces excellent prints and superb scans of docs and 'photos. So, go ahead and grab one.You will not be disappointed but do remember - remove any other scanners first! (My 35mm one re-installed afterwards with no problems!) Hope this helps, RJ, North Wales.
Brilliant all in one and great price August 13, 2008 Valerie Brierley (Manchester) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I was a bit dubious about purchasing this after reading mixed reviews, especially about setting up the printer as I am not the most technical person. I neednt have worried. It was really easy to set up, the only draw back was it didnt have a USB lead included, but I had a spare so this wasnt a problem. The quality of the picture printing is excellant and it is very easy to use. Very user friendly. I have no hesitation in recommending this.
