Incompatible with Windows Live Messenger July 6, 2008 A. P. Davis (England) Amazingly this does not work with Windows Live Messenger. There used to be a work-around but Microsoft blocked this by updating WLM a few months ago. Additionally, support for this product is minimal. It took me umpteen phone calls to get through to anybody who could help regarding the WLM issue, and even recently I was told by somebody on their premium rate support line that this was a discontinued product and was no longer supported.
Not compatible with Vista 64-bit - be warned! May 8, 2008 Daniel Douglas (Sheffield, UK) Although it is apparently "Vista-compatible" this does not extend to the 64-bit version of Vista. Micro$oft have no intention of releasing drivers for Vista 64 bit.
Fantastic! April 18, 2008 Jayne W This is the best computer product I've brought in years. It has saved me loads of time - I've even timed it and it has saved over a minute on average. And yes - it does work with Vista - but only with the 32bit edition. I also use one of these in our college libary to issue books quickly. Our loan figures have increased becuase of the hi-tech nature of this product!
Its great, if you dont want to log onto a domain ! April 15, 2008 Mr. Roger Taylor (uk) This device is good if you want to simply use it to log onto simple online accounts like email or similar, what you dont see (until you get it) is that its totally useless if you want to use it to log onto you machine if its a member of a domain. Yep thats what i said, you CANT use this device to log on to a computer connected to a domain which is initially what i had in mind for this device. I would return it but i will still find a use for it else where i guess - Why on earth your not allowed to do a domain logon i dont know .....
This is not secure. April 6, 2008 Mike Grills 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This device is not safe as the image of your fingerprint is sent to the pc unencrypted. This means a hacker could easily steal the image of your fingerprint and log in to the sites by playing it back to the computer. This could be dangerous if you use internet banking etc. It is also not compatible with firefox with the included software package.
