More of a gadget than an audiophile's tool September 21, 2008 C. G. Mangos I purchased this pair of headphones a few months ago and was rather disappointed. Downside: 1) To begin with, there is a perpetual hissing in the background that no matter where I place the transmitter, I cannot avoid - after all, I am limited by the length of the audio cable so it has to be within three meters of my amplifier which necessitates it being close to my tv, speakers, subs etc... 2) Hissing aside, I was rather disappointed with the sound quality which I would say is comparable to a 25-30 pound set of wired headphones. Upside: 1) The range is rather impressive and the quality is pretty constant throughout. Final points: 1) To address a criticism I've been noticing regarding distortion at loud volumes, I notice a significant reduction in distortion if the surround sound function is disabled when playing loud music. 2) These headphones need a good 30 hours of playing before they are run in otherwise the bass is rather sharp and shallow.
RS130 headphones September 14, 2008 sandman (wiltshire, england) I purchased two RS130 headphones with the intention of dancing on the patio in the moonlight without annoying the neighbours. They work perfectly-no hiss,no interference with each other, great sound.Although we may look odd, dancing in silence,it is great fun and would recommend them.I bought these 3 months ago when the price was much lower than now !
so good I bought a second pair! September 7, 2008 John Worsley (Spain) I've owned several sets of wired and wireless headphones over the years, so I know what is good and so-so. These babies are excellent. I bought a second pair because I loaned them to my son and he loved them so much I couldn't tell him to give them back! They bring such quality of sound and freedom to listen to all media without disturbing the rest of the family. Get them - you won:t regret it.
Good as you need September 6, 2008 Mr. T. H. Baugh (Southampton, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I decided to order this model of Wireless Headphone based on its decent reviews and it being of a good quality. First and foremost, one reviewer has mentioned that as full volume they are alittle hissy, and this is true, as it is with all audio harware. simply turn up the source volume and turn down the headphone volume. Two things i feel i should state in this review as negatives are that 1) they dont realy carry much bass when turned up above more then half volume, which means people looking for Wireless Headphones to either game, or listen to louder music such as i, could possiby find better, even though the sound quality is superb. and 2) the transmiter unit is quite heavily influenced by magnets in the near area, this shouldnt pose too much of an issue as the jack cable is about 3ft long, but when i first stuck them onto my computer they were bewteen my monitor and a speaker, and the sound quality realy suffered. they are perfectly fine now though so dont worry its not a serious issue, nor is it a permanent damaging effect. now for the plus sides. 1) living in an old house helped me choose this modle as i was looking for a powerful transmiter to make sure it penetrated all the solid walls. this modle does. simply does. i can listen to my music with the transmitter at the front of my house, standing at the end of a 180ft garden, thats a grand total of 240ft, through(*counts*)5 brick walls and a conservatory! that simply amazes me! 2) they do not leak much noise, and are pretty good at blocking it out too. they sertainly dont lock you in a seperate world when you use them, like some poweful in-ear headphoens i have, but turned up a little i have no problem hearing even the faint sounds in them with my girlfriends loud music coming out her Hi-Fi at full blast. 3) alots been said of the quality, i agree with 99%. simply superb quality throughout. only gripe is the bass at high volume, but thats not realy a major issue, and i have experienced similar issues with most other headphones i've used, and next to my 5.1 setup on my computer most things do sound alittle tinny to me, so it might just be me... if your're looking for a quality, yet affordable set of wireless headphones i will garentee satisfaction with these!
The best headphones I could find! July 26, 2008 Tafty (England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I went into several shops and tested many different headphones - these sound-wise were the best. Very good quality. Good build quality too - they look and feel well made. Several of Sennheiser's previous models had reviews mentioning the headphones kept slipping off your head - however, i did not experience that with these. The self charging stand is excellent - dead easy! No hissing or crackling. Good choice if you willing to spend a little more money - you won't be disappointed.
