Fixed antenna warning October 10, 2008 Richard O. Kinley (UK) The router was fairly easy to set up and maintains connectivity well. However, coverage to some parts of my house is patchy (eg I have to leave the doors open to maintain connectivity). I decided to change the antenna for a more powerful one - a commonly-suggested means to improve coverage. The trouble is that the currently shipping version (v4) of this router has a fixed antenna that CANNOT BE REPLACED. Earlier versions allowed replacement.
Took a while to setup and it works amazingly !!! October 2, 2008 Scott W. Grieve (Uk) I used to have a belkin wireless router which seemed to fail every 2 minutes !! Then we thought wireless would never work in our house. I got a talk talk wired router which failed every second !!! I couldnt take it anymore so I was reccomended by a friend to buy this router and it hasnt failed yet !!!! I had problems with talk talk letting me browse with this router but it was all sorted over the phone in about and hour. Netgear rules !!
What's all the fuss about? September 23, 2008 Simonch (Northants, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased a new laptop for a friend and 10 days later I invested in this little beauty. Within 10 minutes it was up and running with her new laptop and 2 minutes later her son's laptop was on the wireless network. I was most impressed with the ease of setup using the wizard and the only delay was locating her ISP details from the original modem setup! Thoroughly recommended.

The review title says it all. After an unpleasant time attempting to set up a 3Com wireless router I gave up and borrowed one of these from work. The router wizard just does everything itself! Within ten minutes it was up and running with all of the PCs in our house able to surf the internet wirelessly. I've now bought myself one of these routers and taken the borrowed one back. Nice work Netgear!

For the novices out there. This router will NOT work unless you run your internet through a phone line. If you run your internet through a cable broadband internet buy something else. I'm off to find out what from somebody that knows, none of these product adverts give me the information I need to avoid wasting any more money.
