Works fine "straight out of the box" July 9, 2008 New Scot (Ayrshire, Scotland) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
A bit dubious about buying the cheapest Cable router and the unmarked white box did not inspire confidence either. However I have been pleasantly surprised. The wireless range in my very old house (3' thick sandstone walls) is much better than the 3Com ADSL unit it has replaced. Setup and security all seem effective and effortless, working with laptops with built-in and PC-card wireless devices. Good value product.
cheap and works June 13, 2008 mike wright (uk) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This item is cheap and even though I know nothing about computers, it was easy to set up, the computer did it for me and I was up and running within minutes. I don't know what a patch cale is, see other review but it would appear I didn't need one. The only problem for not computer literate people like me is how to make it secure. The instructions are not clear on this point. I have checked on internet and apparently you have to change the password and are supposed to log into 192.168.1.1 and change it however I cannot get access to this, it comes up with cannot connect. I spoke too soon..... Having finally changed to manual set up, you have to in order to get the log in to password, it is complicated for a computer illiterate person to get it "secure connection", which you need apparently. I managed to sort it after some hours, but then the stupid router stopped flashing in vital places and now won't work! I've been told to get a Linksys, so I will.
excellent router November 2, 2007 F. Dal Colle (London) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Excellent value for money. This router is very cheap but really efficent and easy to set up. Only problem is it comes without a patch cable.
