Product Description
The eStarling 2.0 Wi-Fi is not just a top quality way of displaying your digital pictures, its a great way to keep in touch with your family and friends by letting them share their photographs too. What makes this frame unique is it has its own email address, so anyone can email it. A one time installation will make it easy for friends and family to upload pictures to it. Its a great gift for the important people in your life who are not too technical and it is a great way to stay in touch by sending the latest photos. With full web-based access you can connect the Photo Frame to your local Wi-Fi network and display pictures via email, or from an online photo archive source such as Flickr or Photobucket. We will get on to the great specifications and features in a second, but here is a simple reason why this would make an excellent gift. Let us say you live a long way from your family, parents, grandparents etc. and you want to send them pictures of your kids. You could do it the old fashioned way and send prints in the post or buy them one of these so you can let them see your pictures wherever you are in the world. Or if you want one for yourself, in addition to showing your artistic efforts and plain old holiday snaps, you can choose keywords from Flickr and, for example, tell your photo frame to display hot babes, Venetian architecture, cats, Sunsets or whatever else takes your fancy.Specifications, techy stuff and other features that will impress your mates Once configured, the frame can be left to operate in a completely stand alone mode. It supports WEP or WPA encryption and has fully featured TCP/IP setup supporting DCHP and manual IP. (By the way, if you dont know what this stuff means, dont worry, it is all easy to sort out

1 out of 5 stars Disaster product !!   March 26, 2008

I have now tried 2 of these frames. The first turned out the have the same MAC address as someone elses frame. This means I kept receiving photos of someones elses frame !! After much email correspondence with estarling they finally admitted that they could not change the MAC address so the frame would have to be changed. Their support staff do not seem very technically competent. I am reasonably computer literate but struggled with their conflicting advice. The 2nd frame arrived but my computer would not recognise via USB and I really tried to get this frame working but unless you can connect using USB you cannot set up the frame. estarling have now said they cannot guarantee that all computers will be able to work with their frames, despite the fact that my computer did recognise the first frame without problems. While trying to get help I found on internet many other people have problems with estarling frames, particularly with secure Wifi networks. Why should we have to remove our Wifi security just to get an estarling frame to work ?

Maybe I have been unlucky but decided not to risk a 3rd frame so my advice - do not buy now. Wait for the technology to improve.
