my review January 19, 2008 doogly1 (Scotland) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this fan to increase cooling on my cpu and for a quieter computer. Although you may be led to belive it but infact IT IS NOT SILENT, it is QUIET. you can just hear it if you are at the other side of the room your pc is in, and if you are sitting next to your pc it is non-noticable. My sata harddrive is noiser than the fan and the hdd itself is quite quiet. I gave it 4 stars, as it is a good quality fan all-round with a very good noise level and exelent value for price. I liked it so much I have 3 of them in my pc!
18dB is reasonable. January 10, 2008 V. T. PACKER (UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
One of the better cheap and widely available quiet fans available. I have a quiet system, where the most noise comes from the internal HDD and have replaced most of the system and PSU fans with these. Less rumble than the Panoflow fans recommended by SPCR a few years ago, these fans run from ~660-1440 RPM. There is a noticable noise reduction from 1440 RPM to around 1220 achievable using a fan controller. They will reliably spin up from 7V. The oldest fan I have is 2 years old with no audible increase in noise.
Good but far far from quite May 25, 2006 Ranjitham Maheswaran 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Just bought one of these because my case fan was making tooo much noise but wish I didn't. Akasa State this is a very quite fan but i think this thing should be flying with the air force because its soooo loud. I gave it three stars because it brought my Hdd temp from 55c to 45c, which is huge. If u want a quite fan then look elsewhere because this is far from it but if you want a fan that brings down 10c of ur HDD temp then this might be for you.
