After Sales Customer Service second to none July 21, 2008 P. T. Quinn (Liverpool) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Having contacted the supplier (by the phone number supplied) it is refreshing to find people that are happy to resolve your issue. I needed an eSata lead (I think I may have lost the original supplied !!) but the supplier just first classed one anyway @ NO CHARGE. By 0830h the next morning I was up and running via my new shiny eSata data lead. All three enclosures just tick away silently and do exactly what it says on the can. If Carling did enclosures..... Five star all round !!
I recommend it! May 23, 2008 T. Hamill (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Prompt delivery. No instructions were included but I found it very easy to install my choice of HDD (Samsung Spin Point F1 1TB Internal SATA). Took about two minutes to unpack, dismantle, install HDD, re-assemble and plug in with the included cables. Vista recognised it right away. The aluminium casing is slightly bent and the plastic ends are a bit flimsy but all in all it looks good, takes up little space and so far... Works.
good piece of kit March 28, 2008 W. R. T. Peppe (Newcastle, United Kingdom) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had one of these for about a week now, and it does the job fine. The only problem i had was that the installation instructions had been left out, but once you've worked out how to slide the drive bay out (unscrew end and push), it's all fairly trivial, assuming you know how to use a screwdriver. Build quality is solid, and there's a red/green LED that indicates activity/power, which can be useful and isn't too bright or distracting. As there's no fan, I don't know how well drives that get very hot would do (I've put a WD Caviar 1000GB in it, and it's only barely warm, even after writing 700GB of data over a period of 24 hours).
