I bought this to house an HDD from my laptop that I was upgrading. It is very easy to set up, although I have found it hard to get all the screws done up when the drive is installed (simply due to difficulty of screwdriver access). However, it's a great bit of kit, looks good, and worked straight away. It now permanently holds my old laptop HDD, and is my portable memory store. Comes with a USB cable.

Bought this to make use of old PS3 60GB HDD. Formatted HDD simply to FAT32 using swissknife and was instantly recognised by my Windows XP no problems.
However, the HDD/enclosure is NOT recognised by the PS3. I have found comments on forums pointing to potential 2.5" HDD enclosure compatability issues with the PS3. It seems like this may be one of them. The LED light flashes red/blue/red/blue... etc before settling on blue to indicate it's on. But. Nothing. Doesn't like the PS3. The PS3 doesn't like it.
Overall, great value product if you don't need to transfer data to/from PS3. Works perfectly ok with PC.
I'm off to hunt for another enclosure that will work with my PS3....

I bought it for 250GB HD. Easy to install and worth it for the cheap price. Didn't need to use 2 USB's, works fine using just one. I am running both Mac OS and Windows XP.

bought it for the same reason as O. A. Kowlessar to store my old 80gb ps3 hard drive to change it into a 250gb and the 80gb works fine with my pc

I bought this to make use of my old 2.5 40GB SATA PS3 hard drive. For under a tenner you get a lot, including a screw driver!
The enclosure worked with no probs, it has a built in LED to indicate when it's on and if there's enough power being supplied to it.
The only problem I found was that you need two spare USB ports to power the enclosure/drive. Still it's better than a separate AC power unit.
Tip: If you want to use this enclosure with your Xbox 360 and or PS3 format your hard drive using the FAT32 file system. The Xbox 360 will power the enclosure using only one USB.
There are many more expensive enclosures out there but why pay more when this is just as good. Also good after sales support provided by the seller. Recommended.
