5 out of 5 stars Just for the record...   October 7, 2007

...I feel it necessary to write this review. I've had my Infocus X2 for about three years now and it's still going strong (lamp and all!). I'm well beyong the 'supposed' 700 hours lamp life and am very happy with the quality of the projector. Considering the price, I'm amazed just how good the resolution and brightness is. I would recommend this 100%!

I should also point out that you can get bulbs for 179 rather than the 300 stated by other reviewers...sounds like they've been ripped off!

1 out of 5 stars Bulb unreliability   April 15, 2007

Beware of the 3000 hr claim for bulb life. Mines gone after just 700 hours and having been wall mounted throughout this time and shut down everytime in accordance with the instructions. 300 for a replacement bulb you must be joking.

Don't buy one unless you've had a row with your wallet

2 out of 5 stars Bulb Reliability   December 13, 2006

Same happened to me but I was lucky enough to have the bulb pop during the warranty time. Anyhow 8 months later and after using only 400hrs on the bulb it has gone again! This projector is excellent when it works but I do not rate the reliability of these bulbs. When you buy one add another [...] to the price as you will be replacing at least one bulb very soon!

1 out of 5 stars Wouldnt buy another one !   June 12, 2006

I have one of these Infocus x2 projectors, its 4 months old, the bulb has only done 700 hours and its packed up,
I have to send the unit back to infocus for sercice and replacement bulb, cost in total, including a 30 euro collection charge is going to cost me just under 300,, for an item 4 months old,, not good at all, Now we know why they only give you 3 months or 500 hours service, which ever comes first on the lamp life.... DONT BUY ONE, is my advice

4 out of 5 stars Great value   February 16, 2005

After looking around at various projectors for about a year I finally decided to buy this one. It is a projector at the lower end of the market but still has 1600 lumens and is not too big. It is SVGA instead of the more expensive and modern VGA but this really could not be noticed. It comes with cables for your computer and software as well which is able to allow the remote control to advance powerpoint slides. The cost is a real advantage and the price on amazon is nearly 200 less than some other retailers. BUY IT HERE. It is obviously slightly larger than the more expensive ones and does not come with a case which can be annoying if travelling. Other than that it appears to work very well. It can change the aspect ratio from 3:4 and 16:9 (widescreen) and also does native. The bulb is gaurenteed for 500 hours or 90 days, whichever come first but is said to last for 3000 hours. BUY IT NOW!!!

EDIT: 29/09/07
Projector is still going well with over 300 hours on the bulb now and no problems. Obviously there is now the X3 which has better resolution but this brand and model range seems to be very reliable and good value.
