It does what it says on the label May 10, 2007 R. A. Kiddle (UK) I feel I must stand up for this item. I have owned mine for several years and have never had a problem. Installation was fine, scanning works as it should, print quality is excellent etc I would happily recommend this to anyone - my only observation being the failure to print anything if one of the ink cartridges runs out. Oh, and when one runs out the others will be out of ink soon! But I am sucessfully using replacement cartidges costing circa 7 (bought form Amazon) so its no real problem. So, to summarise, great product, reasonable price, works fine.
Good, but beware Internet Explorer 7 January 26, 2007 S. Tees (England) I didn't get any of the installation problems described by other reveiwers and printing and duplex. is OK. But beware! Against my better judgement, I accepted Miscrosoft's invitation to upgrade to IE7, which the HP Director controlling the 9110 is not compatible!! This I only discovered after 4 hours of online chat (outsourced to India or somewhere - they do try, but are very slow) this issue was discovered. I felt they could have asked this question earlier. So, I have a printer that works but I cannot use all the facilities until HP get their act together. I have rated this as three stars as the printer was very good value (less than 400 plus VAT) particularly for duplex printing.
Disappointing May 27, 2006 memailer (London) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This printer doesn't live up to expectations. While print quality and speed is generally OK, Scanning has never worked properly for me, despite numerous attempts. The Fax facility is intermittent and the paper-tray causes alignment problems - ie. printed text is sometimes out of line with the edge of the paper.
this printer can seriously damage you! May 14, 2006 Nikki Pearson (Cumbria) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
The spec for this printer sounds ideal; it should do everything you could want. But be aware that the best thing about it is the clever plastic handles on the box it arrives in! Installation never satsifactorily completed even after 4 goes. Printing was intermittent with pages badly aligned, duplexing occasionally - but not as instructed- no scan and no fax. Tech support is not encouraged. The only phone number given for support is actually unobtainable. The web site encourages the web chat - which is only open during office hours. After 30 days of frustration 2 ink cartridges ran out. They cost 60 to replace but I did get a secret number for HP support! I took a day off work and after 3 phone calls with a total of 4 hours of one to one uninstall and reinstall instruction the decision was that the printer was probably broken. HP eventaully offered to exchange it after first offering to take it away for repair. The view was the new on would drop straight on with no problems at all. Actual result was it was no better than the first and has now been returned to Amazon for a refund - which has been done speedily restoring faith in customer service. Don't make the same mistake - this is a bad 'un with poor service to boot. Printers costing a tenth of the price are actually better!
