Paper jam problem after 8 months June 24, 2008 Richard S. Wells (Bristol) Worked fine for 8 months. print quality is Ok. Cartridges are expensive and do not last long After 8 months the printer keeps jaming the paper in the machine Followed HP support instructions. Paper still jams in printer Last printer was a Canon which was no problem at all

Bought this from PCW to replace my ageing HP960C, but on the first test of photos I found that the ink came off if you ran your finger over the print. Took it back & to be fair they gave me an immediate refund. I've now bought a Canon Pixma MP470 (PCW version of MP520)and so far I'm very pleased. Scanned & printed photo quality are excellent.
V. frustrating - no usb cable May 27, 2008 dc66 (Gloucester, UK) Fairly miffed that there's no mention of the USB cable not being included. We were really dissappointed to set this up to find that we were missing a part. Then, upon contacting amazon, we find that it wasn't just missing - it wasn't included!
Print me happy. May 15, 2008 Richard Madgin (Manchester, UK) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
My old all-in-one recently became unreliable so it was time for a new one. As a few of my products are already HP I thought this would be a good match. :) I like the design of the unit... it's certainly smaller than my old all-in-one so progress is being made in that area. It also comes with much more functionality. The little in-built screen is great, plus it has memory-card slots for most types right there. Installation was smooth on my Vista desktop (also HP). The only thing I was unhappy about was the fact that a USB cable for this printer was not supplied!!! Luckily I dug out the cable for my old all-in-one and it fitted so it saved me a trip to the shops, but I do think that it should either be made extremely clear that one isn't included (and then we could order one at the same time) or HP should get real and include one. The print quality is very good but for everyday printing I like to use the "economical printing" option which makes the printer explode in a fit of quick printing and saves me a bit of ink. It's still extremely readable too... I don't think most people would be able to notice it was a lesser quality. The self-alignment is a good idea too. It prints a page which it then asks you to place in the scanner so it can test itself. This is much better than me having to read an alignment sheet and select what I think is the best option.
Where's my cable gone ! May 13, 2008 S. jones (Wales) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Totally frustrated as there's no usb cable included as part of the package so there's another trip to the shop and more cost for nothing. Who would dream of selling a product without all the cables ! And no it's not 'missing' it's not part of the box packaging as listed on the outside. When I cool down I'll feedback on how it works with a cable :)
