Product Description The Quick Dock docking station for HP laptops allows you to take advantage of all your computer?s functions. Connect your components (mouse, hard drive, monitor, keyboard, loudspeakers, Internet?) to the docking station instead of your laptop, so you won?t have to rearrange your cables each time you use the computer. The HP Quick Dock has 6 USB ports, 1 RJ45 port, 1 VGA port, 1 S-Video port, 1 video composite port, 1 YUV video port, 1 headphones jack, 1 S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface), 1 stereo microphone port, 1 65W/90W power socket, 1 Kensington lock slot and one infrared port (remote control optional).

Does what it claims & frees your laptop!! March 8, 2008 N. Barker (Cambridgeshire) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Very happy with this device. True you need to use you laptops power cord, however the laptop then charges from the quick dock. The 6 USB ports on QD have freed my laptop so I can 'undock and run', after remembering to take the powercord, I'm sure you could manage & your QD is there ready for your return fully connected. No need to buy another power cord unless you have 'loadsofmoney'. Saves a lot of fiddling. Can be operated by HP remote too and has a host of other connection options you can use. Buy It!!
Does the job July 6, 2007 Richard Parish (UK) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I bought this to use with an HP Pavilion tx1080ea. I couldn't find any information or documentation on the product before purchase, so took a chance. There's a couple of issues that would've put me off had I been able to find out about them: 1.) The connector is on a stiff length of cable, and on the wrong side for my laptop (the connector is on the right). The dock has to sit next to the laptop, rather than behind it, and you'll need some blu-tack to keep it in place. 2.) It doesn't come with a power cable (it isn't advertised as such, but I assumed that was the point of a docking station). You can use the one supplied with your laptop, but that surely defeats the object of having a "quick dock". The extra power supply cost me another 40. Apart from that, it does exactly what you'd expect it to.
