5 out of 5 stars What a steal   November 8, 2007

I broke my old power PC by not installing parts correctly (got what I deserved really). So I bought this little beasty as something to tide me over until I could scrape up enough money to build a real PC again.

There's been no need, as soon as I got the box I opened it (thus voiding the warantee, always watch for that) and shoved in a NVidea 8500GT (Also available here on Amazon) for about 50 pounds. Fantastic little PC.

Even with the measly 1GB of RAM, it managed to run Crysis on MOSTLY medium on 1024x768 at a playable framerate.

Would very much like to know the specs of the motherboard. Shame it tells you nothing in the paperwork :)

I read the other reviews & product details.
I now have one.
It's a good workhorse PC for the price, and by that I don't mean it's cheap & nasty.

3 out of 5 stars For the typical home user   September 3, 2007

Obviously you will be reading the reviews to wonder if you will buy.
This is a very good price for what it contains, and is ideal for a low cost home pc or even a pc for the kids.

The storage on this computer is plenty, so all your photos, games, songs etc. will be able to fit on here and there will be no need to worry.

There is a graphics card will improve the quality of the picture and also allow your computer to be faster- however is a rather dated card itself, but shouldn't matter.

The processor is a very good dual-core which allows for multi-tasking.

All in all, good value for money.

At 320 for a new one, this is an absolute bargain and the cheapest I have found anywhere - especially as it comes with Vista Home Premium already installed! Of course, there is still much debate about the pros and cons of Vista - particularly about the fact that many older peripherals and software are just not compatible with it. But XP machines are very hard to come by now - and we are all going to have to have Vista sooner or later. So why not get it pre-installed on a PC that has been built around it - at the bargain all-in price of 320?

The "cons" are that the keyboard and mouse are very cheap and nasty. And although 1gb RAM may sound quite impressive - more than 700mb of this is gobbled up by the operating system, leaving only about 300mb free, which I don't think is enough at all. So you would probably want to buy some more RAM pretty quickly! And the PSU (power supply) is only 250watts, which is extremely low. I think I would be inclined to replace this with a 450 watt one at least. (Pay attention to number of IDE and SATA connectors when buying a new PSU!) BUT it is still a steal at 320 even if you have to buy some extra RAM, a better PSU and a better keyboard and mouse!

However, the user manual is very basic indeed! It does not give you the full specifications and you'd be hard-pushed to find these anywhere! And it does not give any information or diagrams showing you how to replace or fit new components. This makes finding compatible upgrade components, like PSU'S just that bit harder.

But on the plus side, in my experience Amazon's aftersales customer service is second to none! So you need have no worries on that score anyway!
