I can't hear it! July 24, 2008 Elizabeth Trigg (Lancs, UK) I have had this for a few months now and have given up on it. The main reason for this is that it is impossible to reset the max volume, which is stubbornly at about a third of the maximum. This is OK if you want to listen to a book or music quietly in a totally silent room, but not otherwise. I followed the maximum volume reset instructions, it resets for about half a second, and then jumps back to the original setting. I have trawled the internet for ways to make a higher volume "stick" , and tried various suggestions, none of which have made any difference. I am not deaf, and nor do I want to be - but I can't even hear this clearly over the road noise when I am in a car for Pete's sake! If you are interested in one, I would look at one in a shop first and ask them to demonstrate the reset max volume.

Somebody PLEASE save us! We are being sucked into the jaws of the horrid iPod monster! HELP! HELP!
Good stuff! July 8, 2008 Mr. P. D. Vincent (Doncaster, UK) This is a fantastic mp3 player; easy to use and very good quality audio (when used with a good pair of earphones or headphones). There are plenty of critics on here, complaining about audio quality, but at the end of the day, mp3 quality is never going to be as good as on a CD (whichever model or make you go for), and if you are particularly picky you can go on to say the same about CDs and Vinyl LPs. An MP3 player is there for convenience, and the ipod nano is extremely convenient without much degradation of quality at all.
