Apple iPod 30GB Video/Black (5th Generation) July 2, 2008 Rk Breslin Don't get an iPod! They are highly overated and more often than not are owned as status symbols. I switched from iPod to sony after about 8 months because I was tired of having to buy downloads from itunes that my sister had already downloaded from virgin media which are compatable with practically all makes of mp3 player except for iPod. There are loads of alternatives out there that dont get enough recognition, are cheaper and do EXACTLY the same thing (Except are compatible with so many more download sites)!!!!
Witchcraft! June 12, 2008 Mr. G. Loker All my cds squeezed down a wire onto this handsome little machine. Its just great. who says that technology cant be good looking too. Apple really do know how to make kit desirable.
I got mine xmas October 2006, it still works! April 27, 2008 Emma L. Rayner (south west,UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Overall my ipod still works, did a great job over the years. Mine is scratched, regardless of the use of covers but the point being it still works. The battery life on mine is down to about 6 hours if I let it play and don't change tracks too often. Worth every penny even though it doesnt allow for a variety of file types, as an mp3 player the sound quality is good and video quality is great. However the video drains the battery so for me it was a pointless function on long journeys. I am about to update and purely for the lack of innovation from Apple I shall be going to a competitor. If you want an mp3 with a big memory that is fairly easy to navigate and you don't mind itunes absorbing your computer memory then buy this. I wouldnt buy it now but originally it was one of the best on the market.
Doesnt last April 22, 2008 Amit Ullas Nair 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought this end 2006. Was great at the beginning-quality sound, nice to watch videos and also plugged it into my tv. But within a year and 2 months the right earphone stopped working. Found out that it wasn't a earphone problem but a connector problem. Apple will not repair it and will offer a 10% discount if i buy a new one!! considering that I paid around 170 for it dont think its worth the money. Stick to cheaper mp3 players atleast you dont feel too bad dumping them in a year. Was about to buy a mac desktop but after this will definitely not.
sheesh!!!! March 14, 2008 CoopXP 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
come on, ipods are pretty much the most easiest things to use with a vast amount of memory. I've been looking at other mp3/4 player and the max memory ive seen one with is 10 gb. i would only be able to store my videos on that. infact not even all of them. yeah ok money a little expensive. i think people should just take care of their ipods more. Pretty much every person i know with an ipod have said " i always drop my ipod " perhaps thats why its always dying. i dont even let a fingerprint on mine (to be honest I do have a sort of OCD for fingerprints on gadgets) and besides, if your ipod does "die" within a year there's a warranty for it. My friend sent it off to CANCOM and they gave him a brand new one. I have had my ipod for more than 2 and a half years, ALMOST 3 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!! So ipods are pretty much the best
