Sadly I cannot echo the thoughts of the previous reviewer.. Getting the thing apart was a nightmare, fair enough it was pretty straightforward after this but it most certainly did not "breathe new life" into my ipod - after a whole day's charging and even though the display read fully charged, I still only got about 2 hours playback. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

As with all 3G IPOD's, battery life is the biggest cause of the soon to be Olympic Sport that is IPOD throwing, or the blue ribbon event of IPOD-stamping.
As a novice to any kind of "home repair" the tools were easy to use, the battery easy to fit, and a seemingly tricky job took about 10 minutes to complete.
In fact the hardest part was to open the IPOD - and control my sausage fingers.
Three weeks on, the battery works fantastically, and has completely breathed life into my pod ... which I prefer to call "retro"...
Well worth it...
