Better than a playstationMay 2, 2008 P. L. Barnaby(Birmingham, Westmidlands United Kingdom) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I wish I bought this drive before I bought a playstation 3 as a pc plays games better as well and a playstation can't beat a SLI of two cards or 3. You'll need a good graphics card to work with this drive so if you have the old AGP slot like me, then you'll need an AGP GeForce NVidia 7600. I have a "PNY GeForce NVidia 7600 gs 512MB DDR2 AGP 8X" and it works perfectly on a "Hyundai W240D-TN 24". Any PCI Express card will work on the latest motherboards with this drive, but make shore you have minumum of 512MB because the bigger the monitor the more memory on the graphics card you'll need. You also need to have a SATA cabel and a SATA power cable. The drive comes with Cyberlink BD Solution but I upgraded to PowerDVD 8 Ultra which is much better than the BD Solution. This drive is the best you can get or the "LG GGW-H20L" wich is a blueray recorder and an HD and Blueray player, does not record on HD play only, but does record on Blueray for about 50$ more than the Pioneer Drive.
This is not BDR-202April 15, 2008 davidw2016(uk) 13 out of 15 found this review helpful
Please read the description carefully this item says it is a BDR-202 in the description giving the impression it writes bd-r as well. Truly it does not it merely reads them.
The actual item number for this product is BDC2202B which is a combo drive that reads BD-R and writes DVD-r etc.
So if you are looking for a blu-ray writer this is not the one! (AMAZON TAKE NOTE)
