Fast & cheap Bluetooth connection for your PC October 9, 2006 Mr. L. C. Lee 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
At the price of 5, save about 25 off high street prices. About 80% saving. Not bad. Simply and quickly installs on your PC. Works like a charm initially (see bottom). I use this with my mobile phones - Nokia 6630 and Nokia 6680 - and my handsfree earpiece. Capable to linking to a variety of Bluetooth devices. Wirelessly transfer files to and from your mobile. Use your handsfree on your PC as a headset. Beautiful. That said, haven't worked out how to manage / synchronise my Outlook with my phones. Pretty sure that is not supported on my particular phones. Also, if I'm going to be pedantic, the cover of the USB end is easily lost as it keeps falling off the holder on the other end of the device. November 2006 Update -------------------- I've had this for 3 months. Had a few problems with keeping my handsfree earpiece connected to my PC. That said, it is probably more to do with the handsfree kit as I have an intermittent connection between my earpiece and my mobile phone. I'm downloading the latest driver. Just think of this as a word of advice. It can be difficult to tell which piece of equipment is causing the problem. Also if a piece of equipment linked to your PC becomes faulty, it's a good idea to update its driver from the manufacturer's site.
Absolutely incredible bit of kit June 7, 2006 A Dorset lady (Dorset, England) 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is compatible with my Sony ericsson k700I and I am going to be playing with it for a long time because it alows my phone to become a computer remote control which is great when listening to music and watching DVDs on my computer. It is going to keep me entertained for a long time to come. Its really small and there's a cool blue light on it which comes on when the computer is on. I would recommend that every one in the world buy on of these, especially if you have a SE k700i, it's just so much fun!
Excellent. May 24, 2006 J. Mills 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
Excellent item, arrived promptly from Amazon as usual. Very cheap compared to Ebuyer and other online retailers. The actual USB stick is tiny, very compact. Plugged into my iBook G4 and Mac OSX 10.3.9 picked it up straight away. Connected to my N80 and I was able to browse all the files etc on the memory card. Have been unable to get it connect to the GPRS on my N80 though. With the cable it works fine, however via Bluetooth it doesn't want to connect. Not really that bothered, hopefully might be sorted when the N80 becomes more supported. Didn't bother installing the software for my XP PC, just plugged it into the USB port and Windows installed the software needed. Configured Nokia PC Suite and off we go. Excellent. If I want to send something to my phone without using PC Suite, can right click on the file and 'Send to - Bluetooth Device'. Very happy with this item, works perfectly and excellent price. Buy one!
problems installing with XP SP2 April 7, 2006 22 out of 25 found this review helpful
If like me yo have had major headaches getting this dongle to communicate with other bluetooth items (even after following all the instructions to the letter) i would advise contacting Belkin. Seems that some lot numbers are faulty. I spent 3-4 hours trying to get my original purchase to work. Gave up and called Belkin who sent a replacement. This one worked immediately without having to do anything differently. Once set up this dongle works very well, just don't spend too much time trying to install it!!!
Who cares if it doesn't work with Windows XP? March 17, 2006 15 out of 47 found this review helpful
It works fine with Linux, the 2.6 kernel at least. Just plug it in and you're ready to go.
