Beep beep beep beep beep... January 3, 2009 Reuben (Edinburgh, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The physical design of this little notebook webcam is great. The rubber clasp holds on snuggly to the lid, and overall it's an attractive little thing. However, and it's a big however, when you record or communicate with the video and sound on at the same time there is a constant beeping in the background that seems to go as fast as the frame rate. I have searched online and many people seem to be having this difficulty. I doubt it's to do with feedback from my speakers because I wear headphones, and I have no other peripherals attached. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the noise, and despite frequent fiddlings with the settings and multiple attempts with the audio tuning wizard it just won't go away. It's very frustrating, and although I'm holding out for a solution, I have a gut feeling that it's a technical design fault. I'm using Vista so I also have the nagging thought that it has something to do with it. Altogether very disappointing.

I was a bit worried about one of the reviews saying it was difficult to get this webcam up and running. I no expert on computers but I had no problems with it and was using it within a matter of minutes. In fact I'm ordering another for a friend

Bot this webcam a few weeks ago..Was delivered quickly than expected. The fact that it was just under 15 and not eligible for a free delivery was a pain. I had to spend an extra 5 for delivery. The product is very nice needless to say logitech stuff's but atleast got it delivered quickly and well in time for the 5.......
Great little piece of kit. August 29, 2008 S. Crossthwaite 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
I was a little worried about installation after reading the other review for this product but I had no problems at all. It was relatively quick and very straight forward. The webcam itself is wonderfully compact, perfect for use with my laptop. The video quality is bright and from what i've seen so far, very good quality for such a reasonably priced webcam. The inbuilt microphone is very handy, too. I bought it to use with Skype and it works without problem. Overall I'm a very happy bunny =)
Painful installation July 25, 2008 A. Howard (East Anglia) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
This is my second webcam, and compared to my first one, my goodness, I couldn't believe how long it took to install the whole thing from start to finish - and unfortunately it crashed my system (Windows XP) twice in the process. Now, after an hour and a bit, it all seems to be working. A definite plus point is that although the room is only half lit, it is amazing how bright the image looks....obviously the picture automatically gets adjusted to the light conditions, so it is a definite bonus. The sound is clear and is perfect for webchats. I hope to explore its other features as well, but having gone through a very painful start, I just haven't any willpower left. Painful start - only 3 stars I am afraid.
