Product Description Cable/DSL 54 Mbps Wireless Router lets you experience the blazing-fast network wireless speeds of 54 Mbps up to five times faster than the popular 802.11b wireless network. These higher speeds make it a snap to web surf, download large files, video conference, stream high-quality digital movies, MP3 music and photos and play online games. This wireless router also works with 802.11b wireless products so you can use it with your existing 802.11b devices and your new 54 Mbps, 802.11g devices. Auto-sensing chooses the fastest connections possible on your 10/100 Mbps wide area network and four local area network ports. True Firewall (SPI) advanced security provides maximum protection from professional hackers. URL blocking and e-mail alerts provide parents with controls to limit access to inappropriate web sites and monitor children's access. Simple to install, you just follow the cues shown on your PC screen and your router will be up and running in no time. Smart Wizard auto-detects and configures for the best ISP connection, while UPnPTM (Universal Plug and Play) makes it easy to use your computers, gaming consoles and other client devices wireless and Ethernet for gaming, instant messaging, and other applications.High-speeds propel media-rich content across your network in no time. You can conveniently share your cable/DSL connection with many users on your network with or without wires. Will not complete setup! October 22, 2008 D. Foy (UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recieved this product today and had high hopes due to all the good reviews. Was a bit complicated at first as there were no instructions in the box, I had to assume the manual would be on the installation CD. When I came around to setting it up I got to the stage sayin 'resetting internet connection' (or something like that...) and it has not moved past this stage yet! It says DO NOT CLOSE THIS WINDOW in bold letters and says it can take over two minutes but I have waited an hr or more on each attempt and given up. Disappointed!

The best router I've ever used. Plugged it in and it worked immediately with virgin broadband. Took less than 15 mins to get it working with 1 wired & 1 wireless connection. Strong signal everywhere in house. No knowledge of networking needed to set this up as it does all the work for you.
Great Item! October 3, 2008 A. Mcdonald (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is very easy to set up. Within 20mins son was playing online games with his PS3 and no break in my Internet connection. Six hrs later....still working fine and no complaints from son! Very pleased and this is a refurbished one!
Okay, but died young. September 13, 2008 S. MCNEILL (MK, UK) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This product is good - pretty cheap, easy to set up and secure, looks good. BUT - mine died suddenly after about two years of use. Kaput. Strong smell of cooked electronics. A bit of googling revealed reports of netgear wireless routers of this kind having a problem with chronic overheating leading to early component failure. So caveat emptor.
