Wish that I could review it properly! November 6, 2008 Judith C. Fitzpatrick (Colchester, England) Bought this a couple of weeks ago. Delivery faultless but it was a few days before I had the opportunity to install it. Got to the bit of the instructions where it told me to connect the USB cable. What USB cable? There isn't one. An enquiry to Amazon elicited the response that this printer is not supplied with the cable. So a week or so later I am still waiting for the opportunity to use my new (and vital to my work) printer. OK - I admit it. I'm over 60 and therefore shouldn't be allowed out with a computer. But I've never before had to provide the USB cable separately. I would have welcomed the information that it was required before I bought the printer.
Give this printer a wide berth. November 5, 2008 Mr. David Knapp As many other people on here have stated, the ink runs out way too fast. When one of the colours is "Empty" the printer will NOT print another page untill that one is replaced. This was not the first Epsom printer I have brought, but it certainly is the last.
Don't Buy. Ever. October 29, 2008 Farah Ali 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Where do I start? Heavy, noisy, slow, low print resolution when printing photographs (or anything else for that matter), flimsy plastic construction, ink tanks hold almost no ink (and therefore require replacing every 2 weeks or so), terrible LED scanner (low scanner resolution - do we see a pattern emerging?). Just to improve my mood still further, the print head appears to be dying after a year's hard use. Great. A shame - I held out high hopes for this festering heap, and all it did was disappoint me. The Good - Cheap to buy, pigment ink that won't fade, has a screen and an integrated scanner. The Bad - As above.
Great All In One Printer - Works with Mac... October 3, 2008 Jack Craig (London) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Being a mac user myself, I was wary of the printer not working with them after reading some reviews. However, I bought it anyway and although the CD did not work with my mac, the drivers and software i downloaded from the epson support webpage made the printer work as it should. I wanted to write this incase people were put off by reports of it not working with macs... it does. (I am using 10.5 Leopard) The printer itself is great looking, easy to set up, with super results for the price. I have no negative issues with it at all.
Great Value....? Yes!! October 1, 2008 Mr. R. Jukes (Birmingham, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Have had my printer about 4 weeks now, and to be honest for the money I can't fault it. Easy set up, super print quality, super scan quality, and I'm still on the original set of ink cartridges after printing at least 100 photo's and loads of the kids homework. Printing straight from the memory card is easy with the little display screen and the instructions are straight forward.. The seperate ink cartridge system IS economical because you only have to replace the one that's empty not a complete colour cartridge which may still contain loads of the other colours...... Epsons production/large format printers have been using this system for ages...and it's not too difficult to keep a spare set of cartridges in surely!!! I've been setting the output to black only for text only files and hopefully this has helped too. Make sure you select the correct paper output type and colour/quality settings as well, and this should go some ways to preserving ink. I've decided to stick with original epson cartridges for the time being and there are plenty of deals on those on the net.... Reliability remains to be seen, but all in all I think for fifty quid this is the best all in one around at the moment....
