FAST, ACCURATE AND GREAT VALUE! August 19, 2008 D. Redmore (Devon, UK) Have just bought this mouse today from another supplier, and can confirm that it is a good product... do not believe the above review! It certainly beats my Trust Laser Mouse hands-down... 1. Vista recognises it instantly, (do not use a PS2 adapter - just plug USB in to port.) 2. The Driver CD installs only the required driver software, then asks you if you would like the optional Mouse SST Programming software installed, I opted for yes, all has installed fine. 3. there are two buttons on the top to alter DPI settings/sensitivity on the fly Has improved gameplay instantly..... I cannot complain, yes it is a little cheap on the quality side of things and indeed aesthetically a bit tacky and perhaps it could have had a sideways tilting scroll wheel etc etc... however a 'desired Logitech G-9' costs loadsa-money, and I got my black carbon effect 3200dpi Saitek for a little under 20 notes... better than nearly 50 for the same spec... don't be a snob!!!! you decide......??????
Even if this cost a fiver I would be disappointed February 25, 2008 R. Loftus (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am a regular gamer and decided that the time had come to upgrade from a 'normal' mouse to a specialised gaming one This was obviously not the mouse to pick. The software is hard to understand and installs all kinds of weird and wonderful other drivers when you run it from the CD. For example if you autorun it also installs the Saitek Magic Keyboard software which interferes with your other keyboard drivers. I then installed the drivers manually and this really hasnt solved the problems as every few days the mouse will decide that it prefers the pointer in the top left hand side of the screen and I have to reinstall the drivers anyway - I tried this on 2 machines just in case there was a PC issue....Nope it was still this bad on both. The mouse itself is heavy and bulkier then others I have tried - occasionally it seems to get itself in a tangle and the responsiveness will lag terribly. All in all the reason I am back on Amazon this morning is to find another mouse as I have lost patience with this one.
