a perfect hub... October 17, 2008 Daisy W (London UK) A perfectly wonderful unit, couldn't be improved. It's neat, very solid with it's weighted base, the sockets are well spaced and the indication lights suitably discrete. Well worth the money.

Works great! December 19, 2007 F. Cargnin 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I received the hub, I had a surprise. It came in a clear plastic box (which was hard to be opened in my opinion) and neatly packed. Each port was protected by a silicone cap which is a nice plus. I connected all my peripherals to the hub, and then connected it in one of my laptop USB ports. I run Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit and everything worked. The provided power adapter ensure that every piece of hardware has enough power to work correctly without the need to use the USB port power. The only strange thing about it is that whenever I need to power on my laptop, I have to disconnect the hub from the USB port first and only when the POST procedure is complete, I can plug it back so the Operating System loads the drivers etc. I think this is a problem related to my laptop BIOS so I won't complain about the hub. I'm happy with this purchase and I'd recommend this hub to everyone who wants an organized desk plus more USB ports. --- I bought a Mac laptop and this hub has been doing it's job greatly. I haven't had any problems at all. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.
Nicely Engineered and Trouble Free January 31, 2007 T. Legge (UK) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
This Kensington hub should look very smart sitting on top of, or next to, any of the recent Power Macs - even my ageing G4. It's a nicely made piece of kit and suitably heavy for the cables not to pull it all over the place. Activity on each of the 7 USB (2.0) ports is indicated by a green LED on the front of the unit. Six of the ports are located on the rear of the unit, while a 7th, easy access, port is located on top, presumably aimed at memory sticks etc. All ports are shipped with a rubbery dust plug inserted. A wall-wart mains adapter is included, so connected devices needn't rely on USB buss power (though the adapter does not have to be connected if not required). A USB extension cable (about 1.5m) is also included in the box; handy as the unit's attached USB cable is only about 30cm long. Installation on my Mac (Dual 1.42GHz G4 Mac Pro, OSX 10.4.6) was trouble free. I plugged the Kensington hub into a USB socket on the rear of my Mac and it just worked - no problems. Connecting the mains adapter to the hub does not cause any problems - as it has done with other hubs I have owned. In summary; I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it to Mac users - I cannot vouch for its PC compatibility or performance.
Good without power August 10, 2006 R. Aylwin (UK) 6 out of 13 found this review helpful
The hub would not allow my Dell Dimention 5000 to start. The button just flashed. Unplug the hub and it would start and the hub could be plugged in again at any time. I have since found that if the power to the hub is unpluged there is no problem and even the webcam works without power.
