Excellent Print quality November 23, 2007 SynchMeister (UK) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
with so many ways to print your photographs a4, normal 6" x 4", just amazing quality prints, also, supports the main memory cards that are in the market (xp and vista compatible)
Canon MP180 October 19, 2007 Lorimer Watson (Ellon) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I have owned a Canon MP170 for around 3 years but when we acquired a holiday home 2 years ago I installed the MP170 there. So I needed a second printer and being very happy with the MP170 I decided to opt for the slightly more up to date MP180 thereby retaining commonality of ink cartridges. Unlike the experience of the previous reviewer I have found this printer reliable and certainly no heavier on ink usage than other printers I have used (mainly HP and Epson). Document and photo printing is of good quality and reasonably quick and scanning quality is excellent. The only criticism is that in copy mode the quality is not quite so good but certainly acceptable hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I have no regrets at all in purchasing this printer.
Good printer (while it lasted); dreadful service Pixmania August 23, 2007 JF (UK) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
I chose this printer after having had good experiences with other Canon inkjet printers (MP780 and IP4000R). The printer itself pretty much met my expectation at this price point. Functionality and quality were fine. However, it is hugely expensive on ink, even with the long life cartridges. And after the third black ink replacement, it appears that the head is knackered. Unfortunately at the price of two ink cartridges, you tend to think of slinging the thing in the bin, rather than going through the tortuous (and costly) process of a warranty claim. I will probably replace this with a single ink model (like the MP510) and hope the quality and longevity is closer to my still-running IP4000R. However, whatever I do, I will try to resist the temptation to buy anything from Pixmania again. Quoted as "in stock", it took over a month to come. No response to communications, not even an attempt to cancel the order (except that the unit then arrived). The on-line tracking was meaningless. This is in contrast to my normal experience buying on-line, including with Amazon.
